Today, I convened my third Rural Healthcare Roundtable, bringing together 13 hospitals in Washington County to discuss the first-of-its-kind $50 billion Rural Health Transformation Program that we delivered in the Working Families Tax Cuts. Direct input from hospitals is critical to making sure this investment strengthens rural hospitals, expands access, and delivers better care across Iowa.

MercyOne in Clinton is ending its labor and delivery services in part due to federal cuts to Medicare and Medicaid that have reduced reimbursements to hospitals.
This is a direct result of @RepFeenstra, @RepAshleyHinson, @RepMMM, and @ZachNunn voting for the largest cuts to Medicaid in history.

The DHS shutdown is entirely of Democrats’ making. The House has passed a bipartisan funding bill TWICE, but Senate Democrats keep blocking it, blocking funding for TSA, Air Traffic Control, FEMA, and the Coast Guard, putting our national security at risk. Enough political theater. Fund DHS.

Overtime tax break you’re touting is temporary & expires after 2028. Nurses, EMTs, & corrections officers aren’t struggling because their overtime is taxed. They’re struggling because they’re understaffed & overworked. A short-term tax gimmick isn’t the same as fixing the problem

For our police officers, corrections officers, firefighters, EMTs, and nurses, working overtime is part of the job. When shifts run long and emergencies strike, they step up without hesitation. They shouldn’t be punished for that. That’s why I fought to pass No Tax on Overtime in the Working Families Tax Cuts, so the men and women who protect our communities can keep more of what they earn.
