The gratification you get for serving beyond self. You can’t assign a value to it. It’s deep in the veins, you feel it in your stride. Seeing children with heart defects fixed, hospitals getting clean water, schools getting books, donating blood, running to collect money for cancer patients, or fighting malaria, treating children with hydrocephalus disease, restoring the environment, giving soft loans for women who start small projects, or sending youths to many countries on youth exchange etc make you thank God for His grace. Figures such as Gen. @mkainerugaba exemplify commitment to national security and continuity. Recognizing their service would foster reflection, gratitude, and unity. To eliminate unnecessary costs, the commemoration can be organized as a hybrid event held at State House and broadcast live on national TV ensuring nationwide participation in a cost effective way. Globally, nations honor their heroes through days like Memorial Day (USA), Remembrance Day (UK), Volkstrauertag (Germany), and Yom HaZikaron (Israel). Uganda can do the same. This proposed day would be distinct from Heroes Day, focusing specifically on contemporary contributors and modern service.

If you stay around Kyanja please be careful of thieves who move on bodas with pangas. I was attacked on Tuesday when I was from work, they took everything I had in my bag including my phone, money, IDs and was left at the gate unconscious. The safe boda guy I had used that day ran off the moment he saw 3 men on a boda with pangas approaching us and left me there pleading with the thieves to let me live. My young brother was the one who found me at the gate after trying to call my numbers and they were off. I will be discharged from the hospital soon. Let me first nurse my neck and head, get depressed for a while and I will come back with a full story. All in all I thank God for the gift of life. Nze Ani!!! Stay blessed.
