I think you forget the cost of divorce as well, and how lopsided the system is... We aren't talking about half of everything, we are talking about annulled prenups, where they claim it was signed under duress or without understanding, where they can get as high as 80% of the current assets and a large alimony payment on top of it. Let's not even get started on the course of custody. Divorce can be ruinous.

This world is so confusing. I'm glad I met my husband nearly 23 years ago. He was looking for a wife who loved Jesus. I was looking for a husband who loved Jesus.
