@JamesMelville Yes! how was net zero allowed to become the entire narrative? especially as in australia at least, its led to wholesale destruction of native forests and animals.

I’m a lifelong environmentalist, but net zero is a crass logic solution that creates bigger problems. We should be focusing on ecosystems, farming, photosynthesis and pollution reduction to ‘save the planet’ rather than the corporate virtue con trick of net zero.

Just read two emails from writers that used the word “quietly” a few more times than felt natural. Sadly unsubscribed from both. I cannot help but have little to no interest to read any further after I detect AI. It’s not that writing with AI is “bad” or “immoral.” It just feels I’m being cheated as a reader. And I lose the emotional connection I have with the writer.

@thefox It's not better but it's definitely disruptive. I had to switch to DGG + Perplexity to get legit results and while I still used Google for local shop info I've noticed those results are increasingly inaccurate. Many people don't want one bland summary - they want the real world.

Help me out here. If someone beat, sexually abused and then killed a baby, does is matter in sentencing if they "showed remorse" or were "previously of good character"? Because I really, really, really don't think it does.

@Glinner Beatport actually has the best sound and no algo but it's an adjustment if you're used to Spotify or Apple Music.

@salltweets I read a book called Backlash - by Susan Faludi - years ago and thought she was overreacting, possibly deranged. She said that there would be a dreadful, almost insane-seeming range of responses to various feminist gains. One of them was this sort of scenario and she was right.
