@idobadtakes The economy sucked dude, but wal mart was not packed with college educated cashiers. It sounds like your dad was just trying to make some excuses.

@KevP62 What are you even arguing here? That the economy was secretly really good in 2010? I was there! I remember!

@CNewhampshire @aphysicist @fox8news Property taxes are actually pretty fair in concept and context. It’s not the municipalities to be upset with, it’s the predatory banks in the area that underwrite the heavily inflated house valuations and tack on heavier and heavier debt.

Yep, the whole thing is a scam. There was a time where you could pay off your house and own it. If you live in Cuyahoga county and have your mortgage paid off, you're still typically paying about $500 to $600 a month just in property tax. You never own your home, the government is your perpetual landlord...

A group of activists said they are starting a petition campaign to recall Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb. Read more here: fox8.com/news/i-team/i-…

@KevP62 I mean they didn't say "we are only hiring people with college degrees" but it was pretty obvious they were only looking at comically overqualified people!

@CNewhampshire @aphysicist @fox8news Go after the police chief and sheriffs, they are robbing the city and county with millions of $$ in overtime, purposely keeping their ranks infilled so they can continue siphoning off as much as they can squeeze from our tax dollars.

@aphysicist @fox8news Or maybe they are tired of the taxes and lack of law enforcement? I pay over 100 bucks a month just for sewer charges, in Medina county I paid 20. My car insurance was a lot cheaper because cars were not being broken into everyday... Maybe you are the one afraid of change...

@carrie3531 @msmariagolden @fox8news You sound like a freak. Nobody owns a neighborhood, and black people have lived in the 55th area for 50+ years. Get some help!

@msmariagolden @fox8news If it's any of your business, I grew up off 55th and I still have family that lives there. I moved out right before they put that stupid corridor in. When the blacks moved in "my" neighborhood it went to shit!!!!

Now you know why the media is trashing AI, because journalist like this want to shame anyone that uses it. Why? Because he gets paid to write articles and he is all wimpy about some brilliant article written by a neurodivergent using AI. No one should push shame. No one. •
Ross Barkan@RossBarkan

Keep shaming these people. Using AI for writing assignments is like using a computer to help you play chess in a tournament. Chess players properly shame cheaters.

@KevP62 @JohnTeufelNYC The vast majority of the voting public *is* stupid and would stare at you blankly if you started talking about "ideological differences" between you and the other candidate. You people just take everything "centrists" say literally without any nuance. Just attack mode.

One of the weirdest tics of centrism is pretending people don't have actual ideological differences, that everyone is a technocrat who just wants things to "work." I assure you that talking politics with essentially anyone for longer than 1 minute will cure this delusion.
Majority Democrats@MajorityDems

Elissa Slotkin to Bill Maher: “The average person just wants shit to work. I don’t give a shit if you’re a Republican, a Democrat, an Independent—just live in the zone of practicality. And the far right and the far left live in a different universe.”

@M_Cottone @newleftrising @supermarke @kenklippenstein Not an accurate representation to only count live viewers of a stream (esp only on twitch), his vids/clips regularly get millions of views on multiple different platforms. To say his reach only covers 30k is asinine

AI doesn’t fit anywhere in the writing classroom. First-year students and emerging writers don’t need it, nor is it beneficial for their development, from everything I’ve seen.
Lee Vinsel@STS_News

Everything I've seen suggests that these tools best serve people who are already experts. Doesn't mean you shouldn't use them, or that "cognitive offloading" is inherently bad. Does mean we need to think about where they fit in education and training.

@rrandolphjr To be sure, AI has no place in the writing 'classroom' if the objective is to teach sound writing skills. It is interesting to me, however, how poor most people's writing skills are after spending 12 or more years in most education systems.

The overriding fact about the American economy in the past 4 decades is the massive upward redistribution of wealth and income. Therefore opposition to higher taxes on the rich from Govs. Newsom & Hochul is intellectually and empirically indefensible. prospect.org/2026/03/30/k-s…
