SGN have carried out their repair on the A90 at Cammo. They are now taking gas readings - this is done by a machine and does not require a presence on site. When the readings are low enough, reinstatement will be carried out. We don't know how long that will take. #edintravel

@DaveWallsworth As a computing teacher, I have my fleet of retro machines. Always a talking point for the parents when they come round.

During a recent discussion about computers I was asked what my earliest memories of them are. I remember my dad taking me around the section of Scunthorpe steelworks he managed and showing me a huge computer room which controlled the bloom and billet mill. The computer was programmed using a set of punchcards. I wonder what its computing power was compared to today’s machines?! The first computer I used myself was an Apple II Europlus at school, followed by a Sinclair ZX80 then ZX81 with a massive 1kb of RAM and a huge 16kg expansion pack added to the rear. The first computer we owned as a family was the groundbreaking BBC Micro Model A. This had 16kb of RAM included. We couldn’t afford the Model B with 32kb of RAM so I spent the next few months being paid to do jobs like cleaning cars in order to save up enough money to buy the 8, 2kb memory chips from Watford Electronics so we could upgrade it to a Model B and access the better graphics modes. This was also the computer I used to create my first computer game. A version of Cluedo which, as a teenager, I was very proud of when it was published in the UK magazine Personal Computer World as an example of string handling. 😄 What were your first computer memories?

I can’t believe how mis-managed the public transport was today in Liverpool. I’m telling you right now.. Liverpool lime street train station was dangerous. Kids were crying It could had be a major disaster. There was no communication at all Did anyone else had a bad experience?

@indykaila I had to sleep at my friend's place and even with that, getting the bus to his place took me more than 3 hours. Just left Lime Street station this morning heading to Leeds
