@zDamascus It’s hard to think when games would even remove a single *move* in a patch (all I can think of is Seth’s neutral/back jump HP in vanilla SF4), let alone an entire universal mechanic.

@TierZoo This exact mindset is why I struggle to enjoy any game developed in the past 10 years.
Every game now is a *curated* experience. Play the character *this* way to win, rather than discovery. If you do happen to discover something, it'll be gone within a week.

You really don’t have to be *that* good to execute tech that makes people call you a sweat.

You’re playing against at best a guy who played varsity in high school who happens to know what they’re doing, and then chucking the ball and throwing a fit when hit with a basic hesi or stutter step.

@chowitzer @TierZoo Right, but, when I'm signing up for the beer league I'm not signing up to play ex NBA players. With videogames, devs decide to either 1) raise skill floor 2)lower skill ceiling or 3) have some sort of matchmaking or server selection

Or really any move that doesn’t immediately hang a piece or a very simple tactic.

@OhSoSouls @YoshiCookie I❤️VF, but it doesn’t scratch the same itch Tekken does. It’s not a better game, nor worse, but different.
They have their own unique approaches and fulfill what they set out to do. I don’t expect someone who loves Tekken to just swap over and instantly let it be their new thing

listen, I enjoy DOA ( 2nd most fun 3D fighter behind SoulCalibur imo) but stop asking Tekken mfs to play other 3d fighters. They arent looking for other 3D fighters, they want Tekken and thats all.
Its why I think despite all the bitching, most arent gonna actually quit T8
