As promised, I’d like to provide an update on driver’s licenses. It’s not the news you want to hear, and it’s not the news I want to share. But it’s not all bad news. None of the driver’s license bills filed in the House have moved. Although the Senate passed SB 7, it has not advanced in the House. The rationale given is that wait times have dropped to 10 minutes for appointments and 12 minutes for walk-ins. The legislature also appropriated an additional $37 million to open three new regional offices. The Transportation Cabinet has hired 125 new employees and implemented a line-management check-in system. The lack of movement on these bills also stems from the belief that the bottleneck was temporary and that the regional office model is now working since the REAL ID deadline has elapsed. People can now get appointments much more quickly than they could in April of last year. Across 33 comparable locations, the average wait time has dropped by 24 days; a ~75% reduction. Check out the chart below for a comparison. Essentially, if you live in Eastern or Western Kentucky, you can schedule a driver’s license appointment for tomorrow and be in and out quickly. If you live in Central Kentucky (excluding Lexington and Louisville), it will take about 14 days. If you live in Northern Kentucky, it will take about 13 days. If you live in Lexington or Louisville, it will take about 20 days. This is why you’re still seeing people drive two hours to get their license renewed. It’s either that or drive on an expired license until an appointment becomes available. I am disappointed that there is insufficient support to return driver’s licenses to the counties. However, I will not stop hammering this issue until Kentucky delivers a driver’s license program that works for its citizens. As you can see on the map, we need more licensing locations to accommodate the population densities in Northern Kentucky, Lexington, Louisville, Bardstown, and Bowling Green.

I don’t usually draw negative inferences from lack of action. But there are exceptions. Anthony Fauci not suing RFK Junior for his book is one. And this is another. To actually send out lawyers letters, and then do nothing… If Baker is right, then Shauni ABSOLUTELY CANNOT sue.

Kentucky legislators voted to use taxpayer dollars to fund drag shows, and most probably don't even know it. HB 900 gives $10,000,000 to the Kentucky Center for the Arts. The Kentucky Center for the Arts holds drag show events. The funding was included in a $1.7 billion one-time spending package that was rolled out at the last minute. If adults want to put on and attend drag shows, they have the freedom to do that. Just don't make me help pay for it.

This perfect sacrifice saved all who accept God's grace into their lives. It takes a perfectly omnipotent love for this sacrifice. Today, we remember Jesus's Sacrifice.

Apparently I must have felt better enough to take my son driving for the last of his forty hours of permit driving I don't think it improved my situation however Now on to the DMV tomorrow afternoon to get his license and then add him to the insurance 😒
