@heyphilsummers I'd honestly be surprised if you got much blowback on this. I think this is a really well-considered approach that comes across as empowering rather than just fanservice.

Obviously Samus stripping down depending on how quickly you win is something that Nintendo has quietly walked away from over the years. When I was making the guide for this game, I gave this a lot of thought and decided to lean into it and built her personality around it. I thought here is a jacked, 6ft tall woman that isn't shy. She's a bounty hunter, so she does this stuff for the money. Maybe when her next paycheck comes in, she's going to spend a bit of it on a new swimsuit? I started looking at her as how a pro wrestler or fitness influencer might present themselves on their social media accounts. So, I made her as tough as she is in the games, but she's very aware of how pretty and in shape she is so she's going to flaunt it. This guide has been available for years now and I expected to see a lot of people say they hated the way I portrayed Samus, but surprisingly I never got any negative feedback on it (I'm sure I will now for calling attention to it). It was fun to take this character in a different direction. And if people didn't like it? Oh well, it's not official anyway!

@spumdonor I thankfully have only played the original RE2 so far, but yeah, I thought about that as I was going through that part.

Here's another Resident Evil take from a guy who hasn't played a new one in 20 years (but this relates to my point, bear with me) - obviously, Leon being back at RPD in the new one is supposed to have gravitas, because it's been almost 30 years...But the RE2 remake only came out 7 years ago! Imagine if this were the first time you'd ever seen this location rendered with modern graphics. But the designers still want to play the moment as if this were the first time gamers had seen it since 1998, when really it's no weightier than if you were dramatically revisiting the house from RE 7.

There’s a lot of evidence that the initial plan for Sonic 3&K was that Eggman’s shenanigans on Angel Island would awaken the true final villain: a “legendary dragon” who Sonic would fight at Doomsday zone. The original Hidden Palace mural would’ve depicted this fated battle 🐲

@TheArtYoshi I tried the SNES one after I started emulating, but doing it with a keyboard was impossible. 64 on Wii Virtual Console was (I think) the first one I really got into, although it may have actually been Assault. I dunno, I was still playing a lot of GameCube games in the Wii era.

Curious to know, Because I grew up with starfox on the N64, which one did you guys start off with? ^^

Seeing people play the first Resident Evil I forget quite a lot of people don’t play through both Chris and Jill’s campaign, which I honestly recommend to get the best experience out of it.

@em_bani Yeah, that’s one of my issues with it. It swings between bombast and serenity so easily, while the move isn’t even all bombast, it’s all frantic. Fun frantic a lot of the time, but there’s definitely a parallel universe out there that got a much better movie.

Excuse me being a fake gamer for a second to say I haven't even played Galaxy and I can tell you it's one of the most evocative games ever made and none of that was in that movie.
