Dose is key🗝️. Higher doses of AAV (1uL of 4 x 10^12 GC/mL) consistently induced ventriculomegaly and permissive tropism in neonates, while moderate doses (1uL of 1 x 10^12 GC/mL) didn't. Study led by Luke Liu, with co-authors Ania Noguera, Ryan Humphries, and Blake Zhou.

“We’re making a helmet people can wear that delivers ultrasound to the brain, and we plan to initiate clinical testing of this protocol in the next few months,” said Raag Airan.
With Knight Initiative support, his lab plans to test it on people soon.
