@quantitudepod @E_M_McCormick Finally got around to listening…. First, as Greg’s department chair, I want to assure everyone in the University of MD administration that Greg IS taking his sabbatical seriously…he’s just joking. Second, how about DAGney and Lacey?

@MattDabrowski I think those issues are really important. I imagine they study stuff like that im user experience research but I haven’t seen much of it in the academic literature except just the difference between paper and computer assessments.

Going to be teaching about survey item writing next week in class, can you all share with me your most hated/absurd/invalid items? Knowing the source would be great and the reason!

A very enthusiastic 5-year-old participant asked if he could take our fNIRS computer home so that he can look at his brain every day.🧠He also asked how we know where one brain area ends and another begins. Love to see this excitement about @LangSciStation @PlanetWordDC🌟
Language Science Station at Planet Word@LangSciStation

🧠 In our new study, Light up your Language Brain, come listen to stories while wearing an fNIRS (functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy) headband. Contribute to science and snap a selfie with your brain! In partnership with @GAbdurokhmonova and @RachelRRomeo, @LEADlabUMD

@justincmajor Absolutely! We have had scholars who have had 0 quant experience up to 7-8 grad courses of experience but who want to partner with our quant methodologists to hone their craft. The program tries to meet folks where they are and is very individualized.

@LauraMStapleton Is it okay if we already have a lot of quant experience and are looking to 1) build on that experience (advanced methods), and 2) better tailor it to equity-centered outcomes?
