Remember the last oil shock when we were all suddenly talking about having biodiesel plants on farm. How long before that one pops up again!

Dad used to tell me about gas converters on tractors during war rationing that allowed them to run on mallee roots! Got me thinking, maybe electrification would be better as you could use any fuel eg biomass to generate electricity with turbines and the tractors wouldn't care.

I recently did the @theGRDC grower survey.
Did anyone else have the sense that it was designed to give the answers they wanted and, more importantly, to avoid the answers that they did not want!!

@grainvic @theGRDC @GrainsAustralia I grew my first ever 3tn/ha Lupins crop this year, however it was the least profitable on the farm. Given the cost environment of machinery replacement and land values legumes don’t stack up here (even with the Nitrogen boost on next years crop)
