When I was a child, the poppy was worn as a symbol of peace and remembrance. My Dad, God rest his soul, was a proud member of the Royal British Legion.
Today, people like 30p LeeAnderthal use it as a symbol of division and nationalism.

All this proves is that levels of pay in many jobs is much worse than it should be. It suits the powers that be to have us talking about some jobs being overpaid instead of having the spotlight shone on them for poor pay in other areas. Always downwards, why not upwards?

People criticise the SCG, but it’s true. Until the unions disaffiliate (unlikely to happen before Labour is in government and without PR) the Labour Left will exist and it’s therefore good for the workers’ movement that they have MPs and can make the case for peace and socialism.

It will be interesting to see if the comrades invite a CPB/YCL speaker to respond - I’m not sure what part of the Britain’s Road to Socialism programme Jack is referring to here. Structured debates on the left can provide theoretical clarity and thus improve united front work.
