"I am just sitting here on my plastic chair, staring at the wall and thanking God. This afternoon, I went to the building site where I’m working as a supervisor. I was supposed to be standing right under the new decking to check the measurements with the boys. Usually, I don’t move until the work is done, but suddenly, I felt this strong urge to go to my car and carry the pure water I bought. I didn't even spend up to two minutes at the car. As I was opening the boot, I heard a sound like a bomb GBOA! I turned around and the entire decking we just finished casting had collapsed. The heavy iron rods and all the wet cement landed exactly where I was standing just a few seconds before. Dust was everywhere, and people were running and shouting. My boys ran to me, crying, thinking I was buried under that cement. When they saw me standing by my car, holding a bag of water, they all fell to their knees. I am a grown man, but I broke down and started crying like a baby. If I didn't move to get that water, they would have been digging my body out from under that iron and stone by now. My wife would have become a widow this afternoon just like that. I am still wearing my dusty boots as I write this. I don’t have much, but I have my life. God really looked at my face today.
