Last week I acquired the domain name operations.com. For years I see most companies that I’ve helped build and scale limited not from starvation but indigestion. The inability to run the operational side of their business. My former head of operations is coming to be the partner in the business and at first we’re doing an education play, which will turn into a media play and eventually a software play. Specifically focused on businesses doing under $10M in revenue in scaling and eventually expanding beyond this place in partnership. The deal happened in 4 days from its inception. How did it start? My head of operations said it was time for him to do his own thing after working with me for 12 years. I agreed. He said as a joke… How cool would it be to buy operations.com. I said… Why not reach out? He did. And now the rest is history in the making. He’s been wanting to do his own thing for years. He’s been dreaming about the domain for 3 years. Moral of story? That thing you want to do? Go for it. He simply asked me. And said screw it. Let’s do it. There’s plenty of people in the world looking to help with that thing you’ve been dreaming of.
