@DestinLegarie So Bungie closing is better? Weird people hate a game this much from a developer they love. Just because they didn’t get the sequel they wanted. You think they will get a chance to make something else?

All you have to do to save Bungie is play Marathon even more than you played Destiny. What's the big deal?

@iSoulrakk @falloutplays Is the $40 also stopping you/others you think? What would free to play look like? I just think bungie as a studio relies on marathons success. Marathon has at least 5 seasons of support. But if this doesn’t turnaround then Bungie is gone. Is that really what d2 people want?

@LoadnvstheGLXY @falloutplays Right. So perfect example. It's getting a PVE mode. Now you're talking my language. I'm interested in seeing what they've cooked up. That can & may make me invest. We shall see though if it's worth the investment. I'm totally cool with that.

I've seen (& signed) the petition going around. But I think the much more powerful response if you're hoping for some kind of future for the franchise is: Log on the week of June 9th. Dont' get me wrong, Sony execs aren't gonna fall to their knees in tears and insta-green-light D3 or anything. But seeing SO many players out there logging on to give one last hurrah to the franchise that meant so much to them - it'll speak volumes in its own way. At the very least, we'll have one more window of fun enjoying the last batch of new content in a game that meant so much to us. At best, it'll show how passionate the community still is, and just how badly so many of us want SOME kind of future for this franchise, no matter how long it might take to build. I'll see you out there in June. It's gonna be one hell of a ride.

@iSoulrakk @falloutplays Bungie will get shutdown sooner than later if marathon is not supported. I mean hey lol I could be hella wrong state of play drops and d3 gets announced 😂I want d3 just as much as anyway else. But I fell in love with marathon by supporting Bungie.

@LoadnvstheGLXY @falloutplays How they got to this point isn't because of lack of support. Destiny has been supported for over 10 years. How many games can say that? WHY they haven't been more proactive into Destiny's future is a studio / publisher problem.

@iSoulrakk @falloutplays Yes but that’s not at the fault of Sony or marathon to unwarrant the support of the new current project being marathon. Thats old Bungies fault. But those “sins of the father.” Should not be on the shoulders of the new management and developers there.

@iSoulrakk @falloutplays Ok fair. So in s2 they are adding pve modes and have further plans for more modes to engage more players . The Sony CFO stated that was one way they will try and bring new players. Because the game has a dedicated fan base, and it was raved critically by reviewers.

@LoadnvstheGLXY @falloutplays Put it this way, I'm more of a Destiny guy. When I found out Marathon was an extraction shooter that automatically made me go "yugh', strike one. I played the server slam. It was cool for what it is. Thought it was just fine. That still won't make me invest in it. It's not for me

@iSoulrakk @falloutplays New challenges. Based on what I’ve been told is gear fear and learning something and being bad are the reasons they don’t want to play. Every game has sweats. Anything PvP. Think destiny people are doing themselves a disservice by completely destroying a game for another.

@LoadnvstheGLXY @falloutplays I understand what you mean, but you have to understand that these are 2 very different games. You can't expect one community to hop to another that is vastly different. People know the differences so why would they need to play it if they already don't like the genre? 1/2

@iSoulrakk @falloutplays Nothing destiny related is even in pre production. signing a petition and playing is not doing anything. D3 can happen. But not by collectively playing d2 for a week. 10 plus years of support got the game unsupported. D3 6+ years minimum. With a 350 mill+ budget.

@LoadnvstheGLXY @falloutplays You know how it can happen? If enough people support D2. The world they currently want to be in. If enough people show up, that can make Sony notice that a D3 is worth investing into. Marathon is it's own thing & hopefully it gets better support over time. 2 different games.

@iSoulrakk @falloutplays That’s not how that works. lol. We have seen this playbook. Your outcry won’t make Sony go “man they really love destiny, get Bungie on the phone.”

@iSoulrakk @falloutplays People in these comments legit. “Bungie supports trash marathon but not d2.” “ I want d3 not marathon.” People were saying the game was dead on arrival before it was even played.

@LoadnvstheGLXY @falloutplays OK. Your perception of forced hate is a bit off. If people don't have interest in something, it's not forced hate. They don't like the game dude. They don't want it. They want what they like playing. It's OK if YOU like it. Most others just don't. That's not hate.

@iSoulrakk @falloutplays Marathon had an opinion before it came out and anyone played it. Same with Concord. I’m saying it’s forced because won’t even play the game to know If it’s enjoyable or not, but wanting it to be shutdown so d2 can live.

@iSoulrakk @falloutplays Studios are going to keep making that game type. Same with BR. Every company wants passive income from live service. But if you want new things or sequels to things. You have to support the current thing. So studios don’t get shutdown. It’s about money and engagement.

@LoadnvstheGLXY @falloutplays Arc Raiders was carried by the streaming community & had already cemented itself as the the game to play of the genre. Bungie had every one of them play it & they all went right back to their game. And even now the Arc player count is way down. The interest just isn't that big.

@iSoulrakk @falloutplays So people who love d2 and bungie would rather risk bungie getting closed down completely then trying a new game that same studio makes because they didn’t get d3? That is the most entitled thing I’ve ever heard. Lots of people don’t even know if they like marathon or not.

@LoadnvstheGLXY @falloutplays It's not about hate at all. People want to support the game they do have interest in without having to superficially lift another they have zero interest in. It's that simple. The idea your pushing is essentially forcing investment into something with false hope.

@iSoulrakk @falloutplays So we want Bungie to close down for nothing? Because without Bungie making moneyyyy. There will be no future. How is that hard to comprehend. If it gets hate and marathon gets shutdown and d2 is done with new content and support. You think Sony is giving another 250+ mil away?

@LoadnvstheGLXY @falloutplays Asking people to invest in a game they never cared about for a chance the game they do care about gets supported is a reach. Especially when the speculation during the entire time was that it would affect their game of choice came to justify their worst fears.

@BOEnt_Studios @falloutplays It cost Spider-Man and last of us 2 hundreds of millions to make. They don’t just have money. But based on what Sony was trying to do with live service it made sense. But they still had a lot of internal issues which Sony was not aware of until after they were acquired.

@LoadnvstheGLXY @falloutplays Sony HAS money & Marathon, no matter how much I enjoy it, is not the finance operation capable of funding a venture separate from itself. Trust me, I get where you're coming from. But the purchase of Bungie by Sony already sealed its fate. Bungie will be deprecated like the rest.

@BOEnt_Studios @falloutplays They could have shutdown completely if Sony did not acquire them. And signing a petition and playing d2 on the last content update is also not helpful. Everyone plays d2 for a week. Cool then what? Since marathon is a bad game? What happens?

@LoadnvstheGLXY @falloutplays "Cut off" is a wild way to describe going independent. What it will take to develop D3 is not in debate nor disagreement. But the catalyst to even go in that direction is fully prohibited by Sony's business strategy overall. And ignoring that to feed the hopium is not helpful.

@DrMarioEra @PaulTassi @MyNameIsByf I’m not saying that. But if you want Bungie around to make d3 they have to survive. So supporting the game they just released would at least keep them open. Might not ever get d3 but I’d at least want Bungie around. The legit made halo and destiny. And for me marathon as well.

This reads like literally the only thing they’re able to do or say at this point. I’m sure they’ll have more to say when they can, whether it’s personal or project related. But that may be a while given the situation
Crusader II Elessar@Crusader3456

No disrespect to @A_dmg04 or @Cozmo23 but seeing copy/paste identical corporate text screenshot is in no way reassuring in any way. Not when we know Bungie has no future projects greenlit yet. It reads more like corporate panicked response to community sentiment than anything.
