TAO = Tokenomics Above Outcomes $TAO pumped 10%+ on its halving day. Not on an AI breakthrough. Not on a product launch. On a supply cut. That tells you everything. $3B market cap on $3-15M in actual AI revenue. A 200-1000x multiple. And it doesn't matter. Jensen called their decentralized training "modern folding@home." Everyone heard "Jensen endorses Bittensor." Nobody looked at what they actually trained. Covenant-72B, the "first decentralized large model" - barely edges out LLaMA-2, a model from mid-2023. Loses to every current open-source competitor by 20 points. Trained on 1.1T tokens when LLaMA-3 used 15T. And it doesn't matter. Their best subnet gets $52M/year in emissions on $2.4M in customer revenue. Remove the subsidy and inference costs 2-3x more than AWS. They killed the free tier in February after users consumed 100-324x their subscription value. The "cheaper decentralized AI" is only cheap because token holders fund the discount. And it doesn't matter. Subnets buy each other's services to inflate revenue. SN62 runs inference through SN64. One subsidy finances another. The narrative calls it composability. The reality is circular emission spending. And it doesn't matter. Because the loop is airtight: - 21M hard cap. Bitcoin scarcity on an AI token - Halving done. 90% staked. Almost nothing circulates - Emissions subsidize services. Services create "revenue." "Revenue" justifies valuation. Valuation supports price. Price makes emissions valuable. Repeat The AI is the pitch deck. The tokenomics are the product. Don't look for utility. Respect the pump.

It’s REALLY important to remember that Tao is also nothing without BTC. The whole industry in-fact is dead without BTC. They solve different problems and i hope will help each other. I’ll die on that hill.

We're often asked which validator has the best APY and how it's measured. taostats.io/yield has that data. Earlier this week, several @TAO_dot_com stakeholders expressed concern that they weren't seeing the ~7% root APY we were showing. We dug in. What we found: Since early March, @TAO_dot_com's root APY has been under 1%. Why? After working through many possibilities, the team suspected there was a chain bug around hotkey swaps. We gave Claude access to @blockmachine_io to dig through claim storage - and it confirmed the issue. In short: @TAO_dot_com performed hotkey swaps across several subnets earlier this month. During those swaps, the root stake was moved off the root hotkey to the new hotkey — causing root APY to drop in a very unexpected way. Not their fault. A bug in the code. This is the kind of issue only a team living inside the Bittensor code and mechanisms would catch. We've submitted an issue to OTF with a proposed solution, and a hotfix is underway. github.com/opentensor/sub… Taostats is committed to making the Bittensor ecosystem better. Even though this bug only affected other validators - our "competition", but also our colleagues in #Bittensor - we moved quickly to get it resolved so the entire ecosystem can move forward.
