About two months ago, I sent him a catalogue from a South African, Black‑owned company willing to start a factory in Zimbabwe to manufacture water pipes locally. It is this kind of investment in manufacturing that we need as a nation, not just extractive processing plants, if we want industry that can restore our infrastructure. Not everything is negative this week.
I came across a video of a Kenyan commander in Congo handling a very tense situation and honestly, respect.
Locals had blocked UN forces, accusing MONUSCO of working with ADF and M23 rebels (the same group linked to killing a Kenyan truck driver recently).
But this commander stepped in, listened, and calmed things down.
Locals even say he’s been doing a good job.
We rarely highlight our own when they do right. 🇰🇪👇

Cette distance permettra à #Tshisekedi de mettre à jour sa déclaration comme suit :

Avec cette puissance de la 8ᵉ meilleure armée d’Afrique, la guerre pourra enfin être ramenée d’où elle est venue, selon les talibans.
Je vous remercie d’avoir pris le temps de lire cette nouvelle propagande initiée par l’équipe de propagande de Patrick #Muyaya, dans le cadre d’éviter que les gens continuent à poser des questions sur la campagne qui a précédé celle-ci, laquelle affirmait que la FARDC et les #Wazalendo récupéraient plusieurs localités abandonnées par l’#AFC_M23.
Avec ces talibans il faut toujours s'attendre à des mise en scene et imaginations des victoires.

@LeonLouw3 And also unevenly. I see progress in rehabilitating part of the Benguela Railway (except Luena and Luau) which will facilitate business beyond minerals shipments. The port is also doing well. Refinery = non-starter.
The DRC isn’t prioritising this. Zambia doesn’t have the money.

This is far too optimistic. #Zambia hasn't even rehabilitated the existing connection that enters into its Northwestern Province from Angola. And then there are other questions: who is financing this? Have any construction tenders been awarded? Has land expropriation begun?

Construction is set to begin this year on a massive, 830-kilometer railway connecting Zambia’s Copperbelt, through the North Western Province directly to global markets via the Lobito port in neighbouring Angola. 🔴According to Andrew Mwenda, if President Félix Tshisekedi were truly committed to the future of the DRC, he would prioritize strategic cooperation with neighboring countries like Rwanda and Uganda to stabilize the eastern region, rather than maintaining constant confrontation with Kigali.
Mwenda also claims that Tshisekedi has turned to the United States, allegedly offering mining concessions in exchange for support against Rwanda. According to him, this approach risks fueling regional instability and may serve more the political interests of the Congolese leadership and its allies than the everyday needs of the Congolese people.
