He will separate the wheat from the tares". Good wheat represents the righteous, while tares (weeds) symbolize the wicked. Jesus did not come to bring peace, he came with a sword to divide… Good v evil.
Both grow together until the harvest, when they are separated, illustrating the final judgment between good and evil. The servants were eager to pull up weeds, but were warned that in so doing they would root out the wheat as well. Matthew 13.
The apostles were sent out village by village to inquire of its worthiness. If they were received, peace would come upon it. It they weren’t, they were to leave and shake the dust from their sandals. He clearly states to the wicked lands, it will be more tolerable for them in the day of judgement. Sodom and Gomorrah was scorched as it will be in the final days. If your name is not written in the book of Life, you will be cast into the pool of fire with Satan, the beats and the false prophet. Apocalypse 20.
It’s important to wait until harvest so one can clearly see (who) is wheat and (who ) is tare. Sometimes in its infancy a wheat can appear to be a tare. The harvest is Gods timing, not ours.
“For the heart of the people has been hardened, and with their ears they have been hard of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their mind, and be converted, and I heal them.” Matthew 13:15
The parable of the laborer in the vineyard is a wonderful example. Matthew 20, the last shall be the first and the first, the last. The servant who was hired in the morning gets paid the same as the one who was hired at the 11th hour.
Jesus wants all His children to dwell in paradise, it doesnt matter what time they arrive.
Recall the criminal on the cross in his final moments, accepting his punishment was just for his crimes, turning to Jesus and uttering, “Lord, remember me when thou cometh into thy kingdom.” Christ replied, “Amen, I say to thee, this day thou shalt be with me in paradise.” Luke 24
Allow the Shepard to separate the sheep from the goats, sheep to the right and goats to the left. He says to those on the right hand, “Come blessed of my Father, take possession of the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” To those on the left, “Depart from me, accursed ones, into everlasting fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels.”
The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left.
