The last excellent Sukhoi airframe that will likely ever be developed. No commensurate avionics or radar to pair with it, and no Airborne Early Warning and Control capability remains in Russian Air Force and/or integrated battle space tech. Decent flight performance but if you fly one you are on your own.

Countries that were planning to buy the overpriced F-35 should consider the Russian Su-57 instead. It’s cheaper and more reliable than that American junk. Just look at this beauty

@sentdefender That a big fail but for how long in the Mediterranean can you keep the location of an aircraft carrier a secret?

According to the French newspaper Le Monde, the near-exact location of the French aircraft carrier FS Charles de Gaulle (R91) was publicly exposed on March 13, when a naval officer utilized the online physical exercise tracker Strava to log his run on the deck of the carrier while it sailed through the Eastern Mediterranean to the west of Cyprus.

@ElizHagedorn Good. Export sales are good for our economy, and lower the average price of similar systems that we might buy for our needs.

When Pete Hegseth was going through is confirmation hearing, Elizabeth Warren wrote an entire letter about how his "Deus Vult" tattoo made him "a right wing extremist" unfit for service. She just endorsed the guy with the Nazi tattoo.

@LukeTBased @glcarlstrom Yes, around 3,000-4,000. Even with production times the US would be hard pressed to run out of them when current capacity allows for about 500/yr, we simply aren't buying that many. Plans are to get capacity to 1,000 in the next few years.

"The cost of replacing the first four days' worth of munitions would be $20bn-26bn. The problem, however, is more to do with scarcity than cost. America is thought to have used more than 300 Tomahawk cruise missiles in the opening days of the war, but the Pentagon had planned to buy just 57 new ones in the current fiscal year. There have been no deliveries of THAAD interceptors since 2023 and the Pentagon has not placed any new orders this year. A puny 39 interceptors are slated for delivery in 2027—six years after they were ordered." economist.com/briefing/2026/…

@glcarlstrom Lockhead can produce about 100 THAAD per year. They are increasing to about 400, which will take a few years. The US has thousands of Tomahawks.

Hayden isn’t a Soros type DA. He has been decent with the police. Hard world for the DA to live in with the crazies in the mayor’s office. Former US attorney Rachel Rollins imo tried to knife him with bogus allegations. It cost Rollins her job, but it just shows what a difficult job it is to be a DA in Massachusetts if you are not in the tank.

Everyone wants me to rip on TrumpRx. Reality is, it’s saving patients money on IVF and a few other drugs. A lot of money. IMO, anything that saves patients money is a win. And they truly do have some great people that are making smart moves. You just don’t know their names. Chris Klomp. Mark Atalla, Abe Sutton and so many more. When you talk to them, and see the work they put in, it’s obvious they are focused on trying to do the right thing for patients. Don’t forget they didn’t give the insurance industry a price increase they wanted, and those stock prices got crushed. TrumpRx is just getting started. @costplusdrugs is just getting started.

Americans are furious about drug prices. The Trump administration’s answer? A new website. But more than a month after its launch, the site, TrumpRx.gov, remains small — offering discounts on just 54 prescription drugs. nbcnews.com/health/health-…

The most recent attack on Qatari LNG production facilities was the third attack, but the second to hit home and cause damage, per the Qatari Ministry of Defense. All three strikes targeted Qatar’s principal LNG production sites in the sprawling Ras Laffan Industrial City. Damage is currently being reported as extensive.

Not that long to expand production at an existing one, per the Redstone Missile Integration Facility announcement that I noted. Expanding production of missiles and interceptors is important, imo, so I am paying attention it. I believe the new agreements make it easier for the two Primes involved to spend money on expansion without getting burned, by offering longer term and higher volume contracts. There is also penalties for not meeting expansion goals, including restricting exec comp and share buybacks. I don’t have details of how these mechanisms work, but I plan to look into it. I will say if you take money out of an executive’s pocket they will figure out how to avoid that.

To give everyone a glimpse into the scale of the problem when it comes to munition production: Raytheon manufactures approximately 90-100 Tomahawk missiles per year. The Tomahawk was invented in 1991, so given the above, we can estimate they've produced between 3100 and 3400 missiles in the last 34 years. We fired 375 Tomahawks in the first 36 HOURS of our current military operation in Iran. Assuming we had a full capacity when we started (which we obviously didn't), that's 11% of everything we've made since 1991. So, no, we can't actually just keep doing this forever. This is just factual information and not even a comment on the war itself so don't let it twist your thong up into your asshole too much further than it already is. This is the nature and the limitations of manufacturing precision weapons. Some of you really believe we can just press the red button an infinite number of times, but it simply isn't the case.
