@spencernusbaum_ Spencer, The elephant in the room is, “Will the Lerners spend on players/payroll?” No one seems to know. Have they hired Toboni etc.and invested in tech to build equity in their investment with the intent of selling the team? Or, are they committed to making this team a winner?

Are Nationals fans ready to dream again? “Longtime fans have had their heart broken so many times, where they’re waiting for the Nationals to prove that this is who they are. I’m waiting for them to prove that (it) isn’t.” Free to read: nytimes.com/athletic/73714…

@dougherty_jesse Let’s hope the Nats make it a difficult decision for Toboni. (Meaning maybe they decide not to be sellers.)

Here's the full quote from Paul Toboni when we started talking about the deadline on June 1. If the deadline were TODAY, what would you want the Nationals to do? (It's always embarrassing to ask a question and then no one replies, so please reply thanks)

That loss in San Francisco didn’t sink the upstart Nats. It’s now June 15 and they’ve still scored the most runs in the league. And what that means, more than anything, is that it’s shaping up to be a fascinating first deadline season for Paul Toboni: notus.org/sports/nationa…

Get rid of fan voting permanently I’m fed up with players being screwed over in All Star selections due to poor voting Players who play their asses off in the first half of the season deserve to be acknowledged for their efforts, and that just doesn’t happen here The All Star Game is just an exhibition game, but imo the biggest factor here is recognition and James Wood deserves all the recognition by playing with the rest of the NL superstars on national television

@TalkNats @NavyYardNats Several of the players who have been interviewed recently have accredited their recent success to the coaches and training staff. But…..”Never on the coaching”….hmmmm

The Nationals and Mariners are going to have a high scoring game today The wind is blowing out 10 mph, Mikolas and Hancock are pitching and both teams have power bats If you’re a fan of offense, this should be an exciting one today Let’s win the series

The Nationals have recalled PJ Poulin from Triple-A Rochester. They’re back to three lefties in the bullpen.

RHP Riley Cornelio was optioned to Rochester after throwing 73 pitches across 4 1/3 relief innings tonight. Looked much better than in his previous two MLB appearances, but he wouldn't be available to pitch again for 4-5 days, and Nats need a fresh arm.

@TalkNats @PowerBoater69 I’ve met a number of fans in this group over the years at games. I can’t imagine not having this community. I recommend make a donation, large or small, to help them continue this awesome independent site.

@TalkNats @PowerBoater69 I have been a part of this community since 2013. It’s a welcoming group of Nats/baseball fans who enjoy engaging in discussions about the org. and MLB. There is nothing like watching a game while reading/writing comments in real time. I’m never watching alone.

Lessons in time. When we became an independent site 12 years ago we built a community of passionate writers and fans in a unique way. No hype. No clickbait. And we kept it honest with a positive twist. The site became so large so quick that we needed better software and storage and a shorter site name than Going Deep With the Nats. And 12 years after TalkNats was made, one of the site owners tried to force new software on the community at the same time basically doubled the cost to be a part of the community. People didn't like it. We didn't like it. So a month ago, we went back to basics to being independent again. This time as NatsTalk. No sign-up fees. Free to read the articles. Free to comment. Donate if you believe in what we're doing. And the feedback and the messages of support has blown us away. Thank you, thank you. Remember when the @NewYorker wrote an article about how cutting edge the TN community was in 2023? newyorker.com/culture/cultur… Now check out the NT community. Here's the link: nats.talkdcsports.com Share it with friends who you think want to be part of the community. Again, thanks.

Then→Now Then: A 12-yr-old diehard Nats fan from VA w/ an idiot broadcaster. Now: A 21-yr-old Bryce Eldridge, now a budding star, w/ the same idiot broadcaster. It's so cool seeing a generation of DMV kids who grew up as Nats fans now making it in the bigs. It makes me proud.

Dylan is so close, man. Some really good at-bats, just missing damage on several balls he's gotten in the air. Can't live there forever. But his xBA is ~60 points higher than his current batting average. Under the hood numbers suggest he should be seeing more success.
