this type of thing is the only tolerable aspect of Disneyland that sets it apart from the other Disney parks — there is at least *some* semblance of an attempt to keep the history alive not unlike Knott’s Berry Farm Walt Disney World is just a Florida IP slop dump at this point

A sea shanty performed below Columbia’s decks at Disneyland. This is just so far removed from modern theme parks—no IP, merchandise, crowd control, spectacle—it almost doesn’t seem real. We flat out love it.

you’re right Splash Mountain being based on Song of the South was in no way controversial or politically charged, which is why you can still ride it in the US parks today!

Wanting to make a ride inspired by a movie that lends itself well to a log flume is not in any way political. Not everything is about politics and not everything has some kind of deep sinister intent behind it. I am so sick of this purity test bullshit, just let artists create.

There’s a tribute to the former Disney Dinosaur ride in the Jurassic Park store at Universal Orlando! These pipes feature the formulas for ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise, just like the ones in the Dinosaur queue did. They were originally put there because McDonald’s was one of the sponsors of Dinoland at Animal Kingdom. Jurassic Park is currently the Orlando theme park with a land themed to dinosaurs. @Dr_GrantSeeker Definitely is something Disney should have tried to keep up with. It does make me wonder if the effect maybe had some sort of issue which caused its removal in the 1st place. Honestly at this point they should do to EE what they did to BTM and do a long year long refurb.

Yeah there is a chance. Through the decades it has come back from time to time! But it’s been gone awhile So I just worry that they have said it isn’t worth it and who cares. But my argument to that is how hard is keeping up maintenance on such a low tech effect? Does it really cost that much? The answer is probably no so I would keep the Disney difference alive and make sure this little details remain in place

Justice for the Expedition Everest Eagle! This figure used to fly into view once riders got to the top of the mountain. It was a simple effect that left an impact on most and should be easy to fix! They still use the sound effect but the eagle hasn’t been spotted for years! 🦅🏔️

I still can’t believe that Kingda Ka was demolished 😮 This iconic Intamin Launch Coaster was the tallest roller coaster in the world and operated at Six Flags Great Adventure from 2005-2024🎢 Did you ever get to ride this beast of a coaster?
