@gkredd2 @ArlesGreyDog @AndyHermanNFL I like Watson and Reed. I hope the flashes from Golden in '25 are more frequent in '26. But Watson is below average as WR1. Reed has been a part-time gadget player, never a legit WR2. And Golden is a projection. Can they all make a leap in '26? That's what the Packers need!

For any of you who know me, I love Dontayvion Wicks. Really enjoy how he plays and what he brings to the team. That said this is a really good and smart deal for Green Bay. The WR room needed thinning. Golden and Williams need to play. Wicks had 3 years to ascend & didnt. They weren’t going to re-sign him so getting two picks, including a 5th this year is good value. This is exactly the type of cost I thought he’d go for. GB needed more picks and to clear space to draft a WR. Wicks wanted more playing time. The Eagles needed a WR with Brown about to be a Patriot. It’s a win for all 3 sides imo. Make no mistake, the Packers will draft a WR too. 2026 WRs: Watson, Reed, Golden, Williams, Moore, Rookie

@_Brooke22 @AndyHermanNFL The passing game was 4th in DVOA, not just the WRs, right? Tucker Kraft had a lot to do with that, and he isn't a WR. And Doubs and Wicks are no longer part of that group. So if the WR group is Watson, Reed, Golden, Savion, and... Skyy Moore?.. it's a below-average WR group.

@TimfamousTTV @ArlesGreyDog @AndyHermanNFL JSN, Cooper Kupp, Rashid Shaheed? Horton and Bobo contributing early, too? Miles better than the GB group for 2026. Mike Evans, Ricky Pearsall, and Christian Kirk are more suspect, because Evans may be nearing the end, Pearsall doesn't stay healthy, and Kirk is a solid WR3.

@Peter_Bukowski I wonder if J.J., Addison, JSN, Cooper Kupp, etc., deserve a lot of the credit... And yeah, McCarthy is pretty bad... Kyler, by reputation, isn't exactly known for his work ethic. So one wonders whether the coaching will be able to turn that around...

Since it turns out Sam Darnold’s resurgent season was entirely repeatable, are we so sure Kevin O’Connell is the QB genius he’s been ordained?

@TrentScheids @FastLegs5 @AndyHermanNFL Jayden Reed played 53% of snaps in 2023, and 63% in 2024. He's showed flashes, but often he's been relegated to a part-time, gadget role player. A larger role seems inevitable this year. Hope he thrives and holds up under the workload.

@FastLegs5 @MattDoctorZ @AndyHermanNFL Jayden Reed played 17 games year 1, 16 games year 2, and broke his collar bone last year. Watson off a torn ACL played only 10 games and still had over 600 yards and 6 tuds. Disregarding your nonsensical take 👍

@Calhoun2rob @AndyHermanNFL Egbuka's second half was quieter due to Baker's injuries. I would absolutely take him over an Packer WR in 2026. Anybody's guess what Godwin has left in the tank. Excited to see Reed in a bigger role this year. Always thought he should get more snaps...if he could stay healthy.

@AndyHermanNFL Decent return on Wicks, but the WR room is one of the weakest in the NFL, and that's IF Watson and Reed stay healthy. I've seen Savion Williams play. He never has been and never will be a WR. I hope Golden develops into an NFL-caliber WR in 2-3 years, but he's a total project.

@ArlesGreyDog @AndyHermanNFL Ok, but the Packers' WR room is still a below avg unit even with Watson and Reed healthy. In the NFC, these WR groups are better: Vikings, Lions, Cowboys, Eagles, Giants, Rams, Panthers, Seahawks, 49ers, Bucs. The Bears could also pass them in 2026. So, 11th or 12th out of 16.

@RossUglem Love is excellent and the passing game is well-constructed. Maybe MLF called too many inside-zone RPOs. Hoping he turns Love loose early and often next year.

People will see Green Bay finish 4th in Passing DVOA and straight faced tell you that MLF sucks, they don’t have any weapons and that they’re not sure if Jordan Love is the guy. Dead ass.

@TheAthletic If history is any indication, being able to post such modest numbers in Cleveland may indicate Kevin Stefanski is among the greatest coaches of all time...

@Peter_Bukowski Golden was a late bloomer in college, which often translates to needing more development time in the NFL. Which is fine. Golden could still be a good pro for many years. He's just not having the kind of immediate impact teams usually hope for from a 1st-round WR.

@Peter_Bukowski Yeah. To me the question in the moment was always, "Does Golden really belong in the 1st?". His production profile looked more like a mid-2nd. Pushing a WR up the board due to a super fast 40 is dubious historically, as Al Davis could attest.

The Packers are the last team to worry about with receiver development. They’re the best WR drafting team of this century and all of their guys took time.
Sean Hackbarth@seanhackbarth

@Peter_Bukowski There was little reason to draft a WR in the 1st round if they weren’t going to use him. It looks a lot like Mark Murphy did some fan service.

@jlarkytweets I appreciate you taking the time to thoughtfully craft and share this post, knowing the blowback that any post on controversial topics receives. As Charlie said, bad things happen when the conversation ends. We all need to keep talking and listening to each other.

Charlie Kirk Thoughts: Political violence is never the answer. All it does is escalate the situation and create an environment for further political violence I disagree with almost all of what Charlie Kirk says and believes in. I consume political podcasts from both the left and the right to better understand our political climate and how each side is messaging to its supporters, and Kirk’s podcast was in my rotation It is impossible to deny his influence or natural talent with a microphone. I greatly respected his commitment to public debate, something our society could use more of. I don’t believe his arguments were always in good faith, but then again, I’m sure he would say the same about a lot of my stances No other developed nation has a gun problem like America. Many other countries have mental health struggles, play violent video games, etc. The one difference between America and other developed nations is how easily accessible guns are. Charlie Kirk had an entire security team with him, and still, one lunatic with a gun was able to murder him School shootings happen each week in America, where 100s of children die a similar death to Charlie Kirk Kirk leaves behind a wife and two young children, and that is heartbreaking. Just like how heartbreaking it is for all the families who lose a child in a mass shooting I think about the Uvalde school shooting, where dozens of cops were terrified to enter the premises and confront the teenage shooter, due to how many rounds per minute that gun could fire These were “good guys with guns” but they were completely terrified and powerless to a single semi-automatic rifle There are still 30 states that don’t require background checks for all gun purchases. I don’t see a single cogent argument for why this should continue I am not against law abiding citizens owning guns. And if you’re a responsible gun owner, then you *should* want other gun owners to be responsible too, since you understand how dangerous a gun can be in the wrong hands Turning back to Charlie Kirk, we shouldn’t jump to sweeping conclusions, no matter who the shooter ends up being When Melissa Hortman, Minnesota’s Speaker of the House, was murdered in June by a fervent Trump supporter, that does not mean Trump supporters condone political violence When Ryan Routh, a fervent Ukraine supporter, attempted to assassinate Trump at his golf course, that does not mean Ukraine sympathizers condone political violence Two things I’d like to see from this point forward 1) Taking a good hard look at America’s unhealthy obsession with guns and a the general lack of any gun regulation 2) More open forum debates in the style of Charlie Kirk. We cannot let the lunatics win by suppressing free speech in public. I don’t agree with Charlie’s views, but I definitely defend his right to say it and debate it without the fear of violent retribution
