You just won a 2-week, all-expenses-paid vacation. But there’s a catch: you have to stay within one region the whole time. What are you picking?

Microsoft isn’t disclosing this so: M365 Copilot allowed users to access files without producing an audit log. All you had to do was ask Copilot to not link to the file. You don’t even have to ask; it sometimes just happens. If your org uses Copilot your audit log is likely wrong

Lawyers are simply not trained to think in terms of tradeoffs. If you aren't empowered to push back against them they're happy to make your work life utterly miserable in service of avoiding a lawsuit that has a very low chance of actually being filed and, if it was filed, would be straightforward to win

Since I'm on a streak of semi-unpopular management takes: This is very real. I've seen many high-powered software engineering ICs turn people managers and become completely detached from the tech. Like, you cannot imagine that they were ever truly technical. If you make the step to management you need to be paranoid this does not happen to you. The good news: AI has made this 100x easier. There is just no reason not to have an agent hacking during that 1:1 about performance scores

My entire job is now codex and managing codex threads, I’m genuinely curious what the software engineering job even is anymore. The value of my understanding of any system goes down every single day. Very weird times
