38yrs ago today, 19th March 1988, horrific scenes were about to be aired on the news. Two soldiers in N. Ireland mobbed, beaten & murdered after accidentally driving into the path of an IRA funeral procession. Remembering Cpl Derek Wood & Cpl David Howes Royal Corps of Signals. Against all logic I hope that wasn’t the end, that you haven’t been resting in peace, instead you’ve been somewhere better all this time. Bless you lads.

I am anti-war. There are not many examples of a just war. The British defiance in World War II is one of the few. And the reason I’m anti-war is that millions of innocent civilians perish just because of the agendas of few power mad politicians, steered and nudged by a greedy group of financiers, corporations, weapons dealers etc to get exceedingly wealthy from war. History has taught us that. Repeatedly. Bombs are being dropped on innocent civilians because the public has been regularly sold a pack of lies through the drumbeat of neocon war propaganda to create hatred, fear, villains and perceived threats from elsewhere. A form of manipulated othering. But what we should be focusing on is holding to account the individuals to took us to war and their motives for doing so. Because, to paraphrase an old saying, if you put red ants & black ants in a glass jar, nothing happens. But if the jar is shaken, the two sets of ants will fight each other. But the real enemy is the person who shook the jar. The same is true in society. Before we fight each other, we must ask: Who shook the jar?

Please explain to me how Susie’s slight geographical slip up, which as someone who doesn’t live in the area, looking at a map she could absolutely be forgiven for, not to mention HAS NO BEARING ON THE ACTUAL SUBJECT MATTER, (it’s only relevance is that you’d expect the MP in said constituency, bordering the harbour, with many RN residents and a large naval base - HMS Collingwood - to know the information re the Type 45s that I just detailed, AND TO NOT decide to omit that information because it would serve to dismantle her narrative by providing a COULDN’T BE MORE MILITARILY JUSTIFIABLE REASON for why the Type 45s have been unavailable) is the thing you have a problem with. Not Suella BY CONTRAST INTENTIONALLY misleading people, by omission of said COULDN’T BE MORE MILITARILY JUSTIFIABLE REASON for the ships not being deployable. The literal thing that her post is about, that she’s bemoaning. To recap/summarise:- Susie - small geographical slip up that’s inconsequential to the subject matter. Made by someone who doesn’t live in the area. Suella - intentional omission of couldn’t be more relevant/pertinent information, because it would dismantle the disingenuous narrative of her post. Person who not only lives in the local area but is the MP for said area. My question:- Please explain the comparison points and reasoning thereof, by which you concluded (and maintain) that Susie is the person whose post imparts the most serious/significantly misleading information, and thus was the one who’s accuracy you chose to call out.

@Michellysaurus Patch and city are different things. I don’t expect politicians to be accurate in their words (I know I should but that bird has long thrown the nest and Suella is far from the brightest button) but journalists should be, especially journalists complaining about accuracy.

As an MP with a constituency in a naval city, you should realise that the F35s deployed to Cyprus are a Royal Navy asset. Their crews have been risking their lives over Iran while being "not deployable".

The inaccuracy re specific constituency is irrelevant to the pertinent points. Suella’s an MP for a naval patch. Fact. She is inaccurate. Actually disingenuous/intentional misleading for political agenda purposes is prob closer to the truth. She’s not alone, it’s been the theme. Has Suella mentioned that the Type 45s have been in dock having the PIP work carried out? No. They’ve had a longstanding, widely known propulsion problem that’s repeatedly caused them to end up dead in the water. Particularly in warmer seas. The huge task to rectify this has been the reason for the recent non-availability. But that doesn’t fit the narrative, including that of the Dragon delay being Starmer’s fault. I can’t bear the man, but the disinfo, the lying by omission and obfuscation around this by multiple MPs and the media (clear intent to deceive) has been a disgrace.

She might not be the MP for Pompey itself, but she absolutely is for a naval patch. Fareham itself is a town (not city), but that’s irrelevant to Susie’s point.
