Its just the insane amount of the sheer unfiltered negativity that i see radiating from so many people and content makers nowadays that's often COMPLETELY unnecessary. With Marathon, I haven't been following it, outside of the initial release where people were ridiculing it for having stolen art at the time. With Highguard, I agree it's not the worst thing ever. But it getting the top spot at The Game Awards hurt it a lot perceptually. Nonetheless, I think neither of these games would have been as successful with or without the haters regardless. But ultimately, that's just my opinion.

The fact that games that cater to "modern audiences" always fails suddenly makes sense when you realize modern audiences are the same people who think they can be fans of a game without playing it.

Highguard also, wasn't the worst, yet got sacrificed.

@Normalssbbbx good players are a very tiny portion of a game's playerbase. Would you prefer to get demolished by a sweat every few games or to have a match where the algorithm guarantees you lose ~45% of the time with no way to improve your odds unless you no-life the game anyway?

There’s a very weird subset of people (casual players that don’t want to improve but also can’t handle losing) who wish that all competitive games were just rock paper scissors.
