It was an honor to be the Grand Marshal alongside UT legend @josh_dobbs1 as the Starter this past weekend in Bristol for the Food City 500!

@Hankyaustin @TowryPeyton The tickets aren't 100 if you wait until the night before and buy them off Stubhub or Seatgeek like we do 😊 even with better racing, you're still going to have a hard time selling out two dates. NASCAR never recovered after the 2008 crash.

Bristol will probably lose a date for another track because the attendance is depressing and bad every year now for the Spring race
NASCAR needs to fix the short track product however I think one date at Bristol makes the night race a sellout again and adds prestige back

@alwaysrealracin @JBHess66 To counter this, yes at one point they priced everyone out, but this week at the school I’m at we had vouchers for free tickets that were hard to get rid of. I know several local places that did the same through different promos. It’s a bad mix of current car and track.

@JuvenileBluster @Criminalsimpson You’re talking about going from a 98% hit rate until 1997 to just 50/50 during the Mike Scully years to 1/100 thereafter. Some hits, sure, but the dropoff is precipitous.
