Throughout my student teaching, I have utilized flexible small group instruction for math and reading. Because of this, I have challenged myself to work on creating expectations for cooperative learning groups.

These are great differentiation strategies to incorporate in the classroom. I have enjoyed using some of these strategies throughout my student teaching this semester!

@RayzorSierra I have also never heard of WebEx, I will have to check it out! Thanks for the recommendation!

@Miss_Cushing I’ve really liked learning about WebEx! It is so helpful to be able to “share screens” and it can be used almost like a virtual whiteboard!

During this period of online learning, I have learned about so many new technological platforms, and am excited to incorporate them into my teaching! What have been your favorite online platforms and resources that you have used or learned about throughout online learning?

As I am finishing writing my concept-based unit, I was reminded about a strategy that I learned about during ALA Conference @AlabamaLiteracy this fall. Lynne Dorfman shared her version of “Think, Ink, Pair, Share”, and it has been a strategy I have loved using throughout my unit!

This year I have had several opportunities to participate in professional development. Reflecting on some meaningful experiences with AMSTI @AMSTI4all, and ALA conference @AlabamaLiteracy. Thankful that @SamfordEd provides pre-service teachers with so many learning opportunities!

@Ms_RogersSU Flipgrid and Microsoft TEAMS have been some of my favorite resources. I have enjoyed using Flipgrid because it allows students to be creative in responding to each other and their teachers. I have also loved learning how to use Powtoons to create instructional videos for students

@Miss_Cushing I have really enjoyed getting to use TEAMS! Not only can you video chat with multiple people but you can also upload document, assignments, grades, and so many other cool features. What has been your favorite online platform or resource?

@MsMollyDowning TEAMS and Zoom have definitely become great resources for teachers and students during this time! It is so encouraging to see your classmates’ and teachers’ faces while at home!

@Miss_Cushing In addition to TEAMS, I have enjoyed learning to use Zoom! Believe it or not, I had never heard of Zoom before this period of online learning! I love that you can have lots of people in Zoom call and the amount of tools available such as “hand raising” or “thumbs up.”

@LearningwithMsJ Flipgrid has been one of my favorites too! My favorite thing about it is that it is easy for students to navigate and they seem to really enjoy making the videos for their friends and teachers.

@Miss_Cushing I have loved learning about TEAMS, and I have also loved seeing Flipgrid used as a communication and learning platform. I really want to learn how to use Seesaw next!

Today I am thankful for technology that allows us to meet new people face to face during this time of online learning! Met my sweet pen pal today using Flipgrid and it was such a treat! It has been so much fun writing to my pal all year long and seeing her development in writing!

This semester I had the opportunity to write a devotional called “Praying for Peace”. God perfectly placed this topic on my heart months ago and it is amazing to see how it completely applies to our current situation today. Today’s devotional is “Peace During Unrest”. @DrLizi

Thankful for this community that continues to lead us with Christ’s love and supports us through the hard times!

Loved teaching my friends about how the positively and negatively charged molecules in the water pull off the outer coating of an M&M!

Loved creating my literacy center, “Wild about Reading”! Students can engage in fun phonological awareness activities by scanning the QR code for each activity!
