@sharonodea @sturdyAlex @IanDunt My very aspirational/snobbish parents only had a black and white tv which was brought out specifically to watch certain programmes. Our next door neighbours got a sky dish and my parents made all the noises about it lowering house prices etc.

Posh kids never had Sky because the big satellite dishes were considered uncouth and working class. It's not hardship, it's snobbery.

@thomasforth Fixing this and making it actually pleasant would do so much good for Birmingham.

Very strong agree with this. I walked out from New Street to the Jewellery Quarter last time I was in Birmingham (went to The Church Pub and St. Paul's House) and crossing the massive road is not good. Really restricts the size of Birmingham.
