🚨🚨 Massive Nebraska wildfires have burned over 800,000 acres.
Generational ranches have been devastated. Farmers and ranchers from around the country are sending hay and feed, to help their brothers, This is what we do as real Americans, we stand together, like this convoy heading to Nebraska. God Bless these amazing people.

Santa Clara very clearly calls a Timeout after Graves drains the 3....officials ignore it.

@MachineGunGenny @SmashCat615 He can't inbound from a position on the floor.
English

@Mmclaughlin84 @SmashCat615 denzel has the ball to inbound it’s UKs possession
English

@Mmclaughlin84 Honestly looked like he was trying to call it AFTER the inbounds. Gotta have possession of the ball, genius.
English

@joshuaperry22 @Buccigross It's the officials job to have a hint of situational awareness. Loose ball on the floor = likely a TO call from guys on the ball. Late game basket = likely a TO call from the bench. Late game trouble inbounding = likely a TO from bench. There was no awareness here.
English

@Mmclaughlin84 @Buccigross It can. But in that moment the refs are not looking at the coach for a timeout. It’s his job to be seen. Kentucky has no timeouts and has every right to instantly inbound and go. The onus is on herb. Not the refs.
English

@UKWildcat2012 It's the officials job to have a hint of situational awareness. Loose ball on the floor = likely a TO call from guys on the ball. Late game basket = likely a TO call from the bench. Late game trouble inbounding = likely a TO from bench. There was no awareness here.
English

@Mmclaughlin84 It is not the officials job to stare at a coach during game play. It’s the coach or players job to call the TO to a ref
English

@angiinjackson I think you have to call TO before the other team has the ball *in a position to inbound*. In this case the Kentucky player is still on the floor with the ball, hasn't gone out of bounds yet.
English

@Mmclaughlin84 Didn’t he wait too late? I am not up on the rules. I thought you had to call timeout before play if the other team had possession
English

The TO can go to any official on the floor. A little bit of situational awareness is necessary by these 3. How many late game shots have we seen in the last week where a coach wants a TO immediately. I'll answer for you....dozens. Coach's job to call it (he did), officials job to grant it (they didn't). Failure is on them.
English

@Mmclaughlin84 @Buccigross He went to the wrong ref. The baseline ref is the guy- the mid court ref has has to look away from the court to see the coach. You don’t want that. Herb made the mistake . Not the refs.

English

@Mmclaughlin84 @Buccigross This is not happening at all. He has his hands up signaling the 3. Meaning he was watching the basket. Not sendek. Also the timeout needs to go to the ref behind him. That’s the ref who’s going to trigger the inbound. Rookie level mistake.
English

@ddubs_21 @AjArnold1 Thats not a rule. You can ask any official for a TO. The officials in the tournament should have a speck of situational awareness and know that a timeout could likely be called here. Coach's job to call it (he did), officials job to grant it (they didn't). That's on them.
English

@Mmclaughlin84 @AjArnold1 You have to send the ask to the ref under the basket. This was discussed by Mashburn, Rose, and Pearl on the set too. Coaches know this. Slip up by Santa Clara HC.
English

@thesportsenjoy1 @AjArnold1 Or the officials could have a speck of situational awareness and know that there is a pretty good chance a timeout is going to be called in that situation. Coach's job to call it (Which he did), officials job to grant it, which they didn't.
English

@Mmclaughlin84 @AjArnold1 That's why he needs to run to the baseline official. He ran after the wrong guy and no one's gonna hear you in that arena if you aren't next to them.
English

@mauddibalthor @SharpFootball He absolutely IS calling it before UK has the ball ready to inbound. They aren't even out of bounds yet.

English

@Mmclaughlin84 @SharpFootball hes not calling time out before UK has the ball ready to inbound, so good thing the ref ignored it
English

@joshuaperry22 @Buccigross Three officials, one directly across from him looking right at him and doesn't blow his whistle.

English

@Mmclaughlin84 @Buccigross Calls it to the ref with his back turned. Sendek screwed up here. Another ref is right behind him.
English

@AjArnold1 He was certainly NOT late calling it. Kentucky doesn't even have the ball out of bounds yet.

English

@Mmclaughlin84 He was late trying to call it, and to the ref with his back turned...by then UK had it already inbounded
English

Really cool stuff here

It was an emotional postgame presser for @HUMensBB as Bryce Harris and Ose Okojie shared their final thoughts about Howard HC Kenny Blakeney and how's changed their lives. Their answers are almost ten mins long (which obvs speaks to KB), but here's a little snippet:
English

Bless this Sparty Fan's heart. Just can't quite comprehend there is no violation here. In both cases....last night with Texas and in the Big 10 Tournament with Michigan.....a timeout was called. Believe it or not, when a timeout is called you are allowed to put however many players and coaches you want on the floor.
Daily MSU@daily_msu
Just like in the BTT with Michigan This should be an automatic tech
