@PolitlcsUK @SkyNews They have fucked the economy and now have no choice but to cover up the mess with a war. Absolute retards.

🚨 NEW: The UK is preparing a new plan to ready the whole nation for the transition to war

@CharlotteCGill I thought that was Jacinda he was sitting down with. Had to open the image to check.

“Cambridge Disinformation Summit”. What fresh hell is this?
Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan@MayorofLondon
We cannot ignore the link between online disinformation and offline harm. The outrage economy is eating away at the basic bonds of trust that hold our societies together. I spoke at the Cambridge Disinformation Summit to address how social media spreads hate and fuels violence.
English

@theresa_may @AldersgateGrp Bloody hell luv. It's as if you didn't do enough harm when you were PM. And you unleash this fresh hell. Please retire, we can't afford you.
English

@edwinhayward Likely to get held up as potential fraud either way. The banks have found a nice way to end quick payments.
English

@TrisOsborneMP You only produce electricity from renewables. That of course is nearly the most expensive in the world and of course a maximum of 20% of our total energy use. Not sure it's the panacea you think it is. Then again, it's ideology not economics you are working with.
English

It’s happening nearly every day…
Every kWh generated from renewables is less use of oil / gas at a time of anxiety and volatility in the Middle East.
Let’s power ahead⚡️
National Energy System Operator@neso_energy
Yesterday #wind produced 45.3% of British electricity, more than nuclear 17.2%, solar 11.9%, imports 11.3%, gas 9.8%, biomass 4.5%, hydro 0.0%, *excl. non-renewable distributed generation

@manlikemart @faisalislam I didn't say it wasn't true. But it is selective reporting. Man normally stays quiet when it's going the other way.

NEW

This was after avg mortgage rates had risen to 5.9% (2y) and 5.78% (5y) acc to Moneyfacts, having been below 5% on both counts pre war… if today is sustained these should come back down again.
English

@Consumer_gripes @Trustpilot Of course. I am bombarded with emails about my own listing, been threatened with bad reviews from people who have never used my services, found that a string of expletives about Trustpilot Scam Reviews in my replies to soon gets both removed.
English

@Moneytrainers @Trustpilot It seems that TrustPilot has.

Dying to know. A play on words for sure. My latest missive on planning for the last ten years is here. moneytrainers.substack.com/p/dying-to-know Want to book a Lunchtime Session link is on the page.

@Consumer_gripes @Trustpilot Bless him.

Tommy @TRobinsonNewEra's video of a man being arrested for a Facebook post went viral. In the comments was a reply from @ColchMumOG. She had dared to criticise Simon Mannix the CEO of charity @MercuryTheatre & Chair of child transitioning charity Outhouse.
She was arrested by @EssexPoliceUK for criminal damage, the harassment of Mannix, many done via X posts.
The CPS did not pursue the allegations.
English

@Jamie154182 @iAmJoshHunt These are the Ageuk stats. They have not been updated for a while.
English

@iAmJoshHunt Less than 15% of over 85s are in a care home. And the average stay is 2 years
English

A lot of people are banking on inheriting their parents’ house as their retirement plan. But their parents are going to need that house to fund their own care. Social care costs can run £50-100k a year. A five year stay in a care home can wipe out the entire value of a property. The wealth transfer that an entire generation is counting on may never arrive
English

@Consumer_gripes Worthing has a bit of a buzz about it now. Few nice eateries and bars. Nice walk along the promenade. Brighton is just mad for parking.
English

@CharlotteCGill I know for a fact that in at least two supermarkets. Stopping shoplifters is immediate dismissal. No questions. Designed to protect staff and to prevent legal claims against the business. Remember, it's customer that pay not the business. They are not there to enforce laws.
English

@LeilaniDowding My friend is ringing them in Swefling today - the 'new buyers' in the village complain about the noise. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweffling
English

@liambyrnemp @LBC Did he mention Soros?
English

In case you missed it...
Great conversation with Andrew Marr at @LBC last week, on the dark money network funding populist politicians.
£173 million. Five years. Four donors, two based offshore.
This is the dark money buying British politics, pouring cash into media companies, think tanks, and populist parties. The public has a right to know who is bankrolling our democracy, and the Rycroft Review is a serious step towards reining it in.
