Well then, this really upset some people, but I learned a lot from it. One insight came from the line of attack from Dune fans telling me to stick to MCU. Interesting, b/c I have never watched an MCU film and I regard Dune to be basically MCU with a grimy sci-fi filter added.

You're getting a cartelization mechanism that happens to sound compassionate.

This argument against nuclear is "Hypothetically in some distant future where society for some reason can't understand why this resource shouldn't be opened, it COULD cause catastrophe" while coal & fossil fuels actively destroys the world with a 100% climate catastrophe rate

I read the first hundred pages of The Road last year, and read the first hundred pages of Blood Meridian this year, and in both instances, gave up, because the books never clicked. Lyrical writing, but the characters are reduced to way down Maslow's hierarchy, and the tone is so relentlessly bleak, with almost no humanity breaking through, it was difficult to feel anything besides the flint clicking against the cold steel in the overwhelming darkness. I know many of you love it, but to me, it's overwrought, overstylized, and overhyped.

A strange belief I find plausible is "philosophical reincarnation," where the universe repeats an infinite number of times, meaning my life happens an infinite number of times. Also, in infinite different ways, each infinitely! Shaamba can be 21st c. Hitler/Jesus infinite times.
