Prior to last weekend I had not visited Disneyland Paris since November 2022. I felt like the resort was not operating at its best quality, and the price rises were just so large compared to what you would get from visiting international parks. A break was sorely needed, and I took it. So how did I feel going back? This is probably something I'll write more about in future but, I felt good. Don't get me wrong, the resort still has issues (operationally, and still food quality). But the expansion really does blow open that second park. Maintenance-wise, Paris is as good as it's been in quite a long time, I was riding attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean and noticing how good it looked. Entertainment has long been the strength of Paris and it still holds up really well - although A Million Splashes of Colour plays too heavily to the interior of the hub. Would I go back soon? Yes, in fact I'm already searching the calendar for the opportunity to do so. I don't think it will be too long at all.

@DLPTownSquare @dlpdadfan We managed to go at the start of this month for crazy prices - assuming everyone is waiting for Adventure to open - we did Sunday to Thursday in Santa Fe + tickets for £400 each, which was great! Would love to go back to Anaheim. Toss up between there and Tokyo for my fave!

@MrMatRead @dlpdadfan Doesn’t help when you do the maths and a weekend at DLP is broadly equivalent to a week in Anaheim. That’s for sure.

@DLPTownSquare @dlpdadfan Similar to you - previous AP holder until covid when they changed the rules and made it….well not good value anymore. Looking back at pictures from visits before it was back under Disney’s stewardship it really did look sad. It’s so much better now.

Yeah, so a lot to unpack. I have taken a break from Paris - not Disney parks. In the break I bought an AP in Anaheim and have visited at least twice a year. Visited Walt Disney World a Tokyo Disney Resort so feel somewhat qualified to talk maintenance etc. Did I get the good vibes because I was back? Potentially. But I didn’t get that magical feeling I get when I step on to Main Street in Anaheim. I still think Disneyland is far and away better. Maintenance - Paris in the past has really struggled here. The existing attractions are generally looking great. I can remember a period where I’d look at Pirates and see the swinging pirate not working, or the dueling pirates. That was not the case. It’s not perfect, but it’s very good right now. Frozen teething issues - Yeah. This isn’t good. But the reports you’re seeing are from the test and adjust phase and we have to remember that. Sunday last week was the first time they had attempted that volume of people, it was always going to break. Admittedly not to the level it did. They do have some serious issues to fix here before the 29th, and I’ll admit that I’m not confident they can. The issues feel so big here. On the shows point - Returning shows for a couple of years is the right thing to do. 2-3 years feels about right. Beyond that, yes I do think it’s worth refreshing. My issue with Million Splashes is how it’s played. For a 360 degree show most characters focus their attention towards the interior of the hub. I was stood next to guests by the castle who ended up leaving as they didn’t feel the show was for them. I think this is a critical error in the show, and given we’re on year 3 of it, unforgivable. Sorry for my long ramble here. You raise good questions that I wanted to make sure I answered fully.

A frightening prospect Lee, and unless your party wins the next general election then I am afraid the country is finished because unless the right consolidate and at present the vote is going to be split four ways, we are going to end up with SDP. Greens and a few Labour forming the next government and then we are really screwed with those lunatics in charge. You guys on the right need to start talking to each other and come to some form of agreement, or we all lose.

@DakingNick2 @FPLfrasier At no point did I claim it was a flex, more an explanation. Teams just set up defensively as taking a point from us as effectively a victory, so that’s what they play for. Would I prefer to watch prettier football? Of course. But do I want my team to win at all costs? Absolutely.

Good example of bad use of generated artwork. Old Disney would have cheated with clouds, rainbows, fireworks to make the image more dramatic and romantic. New Disney bares down on unreadable logo and rearranged locations.
