Saw my former CPC MP at the grocery store this morning. Gladu isn't planning on running again so she won't have to face the voters in Sarnia. Crossing was a "fuck you" to Poilievre because he wouldn't give her a keynote speaker spot at the January CPC convention.

I do not care if it is a Liberal, Conservative, NDP or even Green Riding - If a Elected Official crosses the floor this should be a Mandatory Bi-Election to ensure the Voter's are being represented. This should not be the choice of the individual - that is not how Canada Works.

If this happens, I will never vote in a Canadian federal election again. If MPs are allowed to switch teams without the consent of their constituents, there is no point having elections. This is not democracy, our Parliament is a farce.

Good catch. Very curious indeed. 🤨 That seated office photo with Carney was clearly taken earlier...different outfit from the public handshake. The fact they even staged the photo strongly suggests the deal was already done behind the scenes. So why the sudden announcement yesterday? Is Carney rushing to lock in the seat before Monday’s byelections because he’s worried he won’t get the majority? Or was it timed to bury the latest scandal around the Finance Minister?
