Farmaajo rose to power long before Laftagareen became widely known, and in many ways, it was Farmaajo’s leadership that brought Laftagareen into the spotlight. Regardless of the criticism or opposition, Farmaajo remains a significant figure and is very likely to make a strong comeback in the upcoming elections—whether his critics accept it or not.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud @HassanSMohamud of Somalia made his name as corrupt thieving President who sold every piece of land in Mogadishu and stole every penny in the coffers of the state. His thievery has few parallels in Africa. With 35 days to go on his term and facing political oblivion and possible jail term and with the fake constitution he wrote in his bedroom lacking an iota of legitimacy and traction, Hassan Sheikh wants to start civil war throughout Somalia. This fire he wants to ignite in Baidoa is solely lit to extend his tenure and continue his corrupt enterprise ad infinitum. He has now mobilised some family militia and wants to create havoc in South West State with a view to overthrow President Abdiaziz Laftagareen. Hassan Sheikh must be stopped and defeated and then given a safe passage out of office in 35 days. His scheme to embroil Somalia in a new cycle of civil war is a cynical ploy to extend his illegitimate and corrupt regime. He must stopped.

This is not a technical issue. or an accident. It is a deliberate restriction that has turned air travel into a political weapon. Aviation has become a new front in the pressure campaign against Southwest State. It is deeply troubling that, after nearly three decades of conflict, the same mistakes continue to be repeated. Power is still exercised through restriction, intimidation, and control, rather than responsibility and restraint. A country that has suffered so much should know better. Yet today, the abuse of authority and the subjugation of citizens are being treated as normal practice. This is not governance. It is a return to the very patterns that have held Somalia back for decades.
