@pau40314 @ljmontello I think they call them entitled because they expect to be handed the "I've been working on growing my assets for 15 years" phase instead of starting at the "starter" phase.

Millennials & Gen-Z: not being able to afford a home until your 40s is a huge problem for us. Boomers: you entitled spoilt brats expect everything handed to you on a silver platter. Also Boomers: why is nobody having kids anymore? What about my grandchildren?

I will never, NEVER understand how they managed to convince so many people that simply wanting everyone to be safe and to thrive, and for the planet to be healthy and protected, is somehow a radical point of view.

Hey @grok, how more likely am I to be injured by a stiletto, in comparison to a kirpan, based on media reported attacks in the UK, USA, Canada and Australia? Include data from the articles seen below and beyond, and respond only with a figure and one sentence explanation (EG- "15x more likely according to data from XYZ").

I didn't want to bring this discussion into this direction. I wish commentators like Sophie had more dignity during times like this and genuine concern for kids like Henry Nowak. But they want another nonsensical culture war debate instead, which keeps them getting money from views online, TV appearances, fundraisers etc. That's why they focus on literally 0.001% of the problem. There has long been an issue of murderous thuggery on British streets. This is a result of a lack of community, a lack of religion (spiritual connection) and over emphasis of divisions by a media/political class with a different agenda. And Sophie furthers that agenda. Prove me wrong Sophie. Let's have a sensible discussion on how we can help bring communities together. Banning the kirpan will change nothing about daily life in Britain. Ban knives and an angry youth will grab scissors. Ban scissors and your forks are then a threat. This crisis is deeper than objects. But if you want to persist with these shenanigans, go ahead. That's your career. I get it. Understand though, it may mean you never wear your stilettos again.

@7NewsSydney This is not only untrue but even if the premise was true having a period of negative equity at the beginning of a 20, 25 or 30 YEAR mortgage is practically meaningless But your home, live in it, pay your mortgage. You’ll be fine.

Thousands of first homebuyers who purchased under the Albanese government's five per cent deposit scheme are facing a ticking time bomb. Property prices are expected to plunge due to the budget, meaning many could owe more on their mortgages than their houses are actually worth.

A typical conversation with a Northern European. EURO: “It’s too hot! We are dying in this 27°C heat!” AMERICAN: “Okay, install some A/C. There is a solution.” EURO: “It’s too expensive for us to only run it a few days per year!” AMERICAN: “You can buy a portable one on Amazon for <$200 (~€171 or ~£150). Also, both Washington and Oregon have similar climates to northwestern Europe, and >50% of residents have A/C. Maybe if y’all weren’t taxed into oblivion, y’all would have some money to spend on an A/C unit.” EURO: “I don’t want your American A/C. We don’t need your solutions!” AMERICAN: “Then complain, suffer, and die, I don’t care.”

For those of us (nearly everyone) who recognize Woke 1.0 as a failure, what’s something specific you’re willing to say it got wrong? Here’s mine: the practice of describing policies that were, like, Kerner Commission recommendations as “prison abolition” to get attention was dumb

@ettingermentum It got everything wrong. The world model was all post-hoc, the tactics broke informal rules of engagement, it damaged most economies, and it provided a strong enough signal for RWers to see the egregore properly. It was crypto commies' first death knell

@BelindadeLucy @AdamPugh That’s not racism though. That’s bigotry. Racism is the experience of hatred and oppression born from structural bias within society. White people literally can’t experience racism in a white country, because they’re not disadvantaged or oppressed due to being white.

@middle_class_us When you get your driver's license in your 20s and start looking for work then as well, what do you expect? Zoomers are so lazy they didn't even try to drive right away. Currently unemployment is at historical lows. Zoomers want to be victims and want handouts. NOPE.

Gen Z unemployment is over 40%. No, they aren't lazy. The labor pool is flooded with overqualified candidates from mass layoffs. Because entry level jobs disappeared. Because companies replaced junior roles with AI before Gen Z ever had a chance to build experience. Because a 22 year old with a degree is competing against a 40 year old with 15 years of experience for the same job. Then the same people who created that environment tell Gen Z they just do not want to work.

THE FACTS: Too many Australians and especially young Australians are being priced out of the market by property investors backed by big tax breaks. That's why we’re reforming the tax system to help more young people buy a home of their own.

What I find interesting is the double standard. Australia is full of ethnic, cultural, and community organisations that openly advocate for their communities’ interests. We have Greek organisations, Italian organisations, Islamic organisations, Zionists organisations, Indian organisations, Chinese organisations, Lebanese organisations and countless others. Nobody bats an eyelid. But the moment people start discussing the Anglo-Celtic foundations of Australia, or the people who built the country, suddenly it’s treated as taboo. Why? Why is every group allowed to celebrate its heritage, organise around its community, and advocate for its interests, except the founding culture of the nation itself?

@AllisonPearson @elonmusk @HantsPolice This is highly distasteful. People lacking evidence are rushing to condemn police officers who were clearly misdirected when they arrived on the scene. It may be they did fail badly, but that is not for social media or journalists to decide without all the facts.

Elon Musk @elonmusk is going to fund legal action against @HantsPolice after officers handcuffed dying Henry Nowak, 18. They believed his killer who said Henry racially abused him. Henry died of DEI. Police are programmed to believe anyone who claims “racism”. Anyone know the officer who told Henry he hadn’t been stabbed?

@smg1664 Our officers were misled at the scene, including denial of weapon use. They quickly switched to life-saving aid within minutes but, as laid out in our statement, the medical evidence shows that the injuries were not survivable. A very sad case, our thoughts are with his family.

No one deserves to starve. No one deserves to be homeless. No one deserves to be abandoned or mistreated. Recovery taught me something powerful: People can’t heal while they’re hungry, homeless, and hurting. Food. Housing. Healthcare. These aren’t luxuries, they are human rights. Real recovery means we stop leaving people behind.

Started reading "The Boys" because I thought it would be a story about a group of dudes who use their wits and cunning to take out superhumans but nope, turns out they just inject magic Viagra which gives them temporary super strength and then punch supes to death. It's not a subversion of capeshit, it's just capeshit with surface level critiques on how powerful people are allowed to get away with horrible things.
