@RugbyInsideLine This must be ragebait!! No way any of our backs make a combined team. Not even close. Freeman certainly not at 13. Maybe Earl in the forwards but that’s it.

Bet CCS and Marcus Smith pumped for their 3 minute cameos when England are 60 points down Saturday. Borthwick “get on there and make a difference boys”

@FMC_Rugby Worse for me was that he was Box-kick Ben for many years. He went along with it. Did he challenge the incessant and dull kicking when he was the 9? This is not a New England tactic, it just isn’t working as well as it used to.

Ben Youngs is a brilliant pundit, but I disagree with the principle of what he’s saying here. Implies you can accept losses against other 6N teams on their day, downplaying just how good Italy are now. Comes across as uncharacteristically old-guard for me

@RucksSake Agree but feel last week was his Hail Mary but didn’t land on the right people and if he ripped it up again would look like he didn’t have a plan….. 👀

@WorldWatchTM @scrumming_ten Watch how he always behaves. Shakes hands with the opposition. On the Lions tour all the players loved him. They didn’t think they would. But they all did. He’s just a kid living his time.

The reaction to this is ridiculous. These are warriors competing at the highest level. In an 80-minute physical contest there will always be comments, niggle and a bit of shithousery. Expecting players to behave like ballerinas is naive.

@Yavuya_Ke @Rugby_Scoop Who is ‘you guys’? I’m English. I’m a rugby fan. I recognise class. He’s the best individual pants of the last 5 years. There are many great players. He’s different league. I like him because he’s brilliant, strong, fast, does the unthinkable, won Olympic medal in 7s….

@AJ_Journo @FogartyJack Exactly this. So odd that Ojomoh went from MOTM to dropped. He plays alongside Lawrence at club. Creative and hard in equal measure. Also agree with CCS. Give him 50 mins to smash the ball up then bring on Curry / Pollock to insert pace and energy.

@FogartyJack From an outsider's perspective back row balance is horrible. Need CCS in there at 6, Curry 7, Earl 8 probably works Stick with Fin Smith. Ojomoh was MOTM vs Argentina, then dropped? Freeman is a winger

Genuine question, we all love to poke a bit of fun at England, why wouldn't you? But how would you fix it? Lots of injuries, no firm idea who their 10 is? Wingers - pace? Size? Centres - no consistently What are they doing with Freeman? Lad doesn't know where he's playing.

@WorldWatchTM @scrumming_ten I waited an hour with my son after an England game recently when we beat Wales. Pollock was the last one on the pitch taking photos & spent the longest with fans before getting on the coach. He’s a good guy. Just loves the game.

@scrumming_ten Is there any evidence of Pollock sulking about Englands current form? Or just a weird SA obsession again? I waited an hour with my son after an England game. Pollock was the last one on the pitch taking photos & spent the longest with fans before getting on the coach. Top man.

@GHammers13 @RugbyInsideLine News from inside the camp is that the environment SB has created is not a good one. Wigglesworth is not up to it. When he was away with the lions and Blackett stepped up in Argentina, we were brilliant. El-Abd is SB old Uni housemate and massively stepped up from a previous role

@NigelPClarkson @RugbyInsideLine Wrong WC, I was referring to 2019. Eng had a shitshow 2018 and the very next year was a very different story. I agree that possession rugby is outdated. That's not the usual criticism though, we seem to hear that Eng kick too much (which isn't the problem)

🌹 RIL BACKS BAXTER FOR ENGLAND - Taken Exeter to six Premiership finals and a European title - One of the most innovative coaches in world rugby (tap and goes, latching) - Been through cycles and rebuilt when squad spend reduced. So adapted to the lows as well as highs - Proven track record of bringing through young talent - Loved and feared by his players in equal measure - Last contract in 2022, so likely lower cost to buyout - Proud Englishman #BackBaxter

@GHammers13 @RugbyInsideLine Shared disagree. We limped through that tournament. Narrowly beat Fiji in the quarters. Possession rugby has worked at times. But now it is so obvious and so easy to defend against. The players looked pissed off. Wigglesworth & Borthwick are leading us into the dullest rugby

@NigelPClarkson @RugbyInsideLine In that period with wins, it included the 3rd highest tries scored by any team in a single 6N.. Axing a coach for a single bad run of games following a nearly unbeaten year is absolutely a knee jerk reaction. If EJ was axed in 2018, we'd have been nowhere near winning the WC

@GHammers13 @RugbyInsideLine I’m not sure it’s knee jerk. England have been playing the same way for years. Little or no invention in attack. Every other team is evolving. We aren’t. It was easy to ignore when we were winning. When Blackett had more of a leading role in Argentina we played brilliant rugby

@NigelPClarkson @RugbyInsideLine That doesn't sway my thinking at all. 2018 was a shitshow for Eng. The very next year was completely different. 2021, Irish were saying that about AF. Probably good he wasn't sacked! The narrative can change very quickly in rugby. This isn't the time for knee jerk reactions

Bring back Dingwall & Furbank for Paris. Coles must start too. England need cohesion, familiarity and understanding. And just let them play.

@Keegs_87 @RugbyInsideLine How many backroom staff / coaches have got the boot? Does anyone get a real say? Rumour is that Blackett has been back-seated even though he did a brilliant job in Argentina. Borthwick and Wigglesworth are the problem. Listen to the ex pros!

@RugbyInsideLine SB is out of form like his team but not a reason to fire him (except if there was a toxic environment like with Eddie Jones). He's competent but players have not a point of difference, that's why Feyi Waboso, Marcus, Lawrence are key players

@RugbyInsideLine I have to say, I don't see it. Excellent coach but this is an excessively scrutinised job and Baxter is fundamentally process driven in his methods. Just not the right fit. SB should be given the full WC cycle, for the love of God let's keep the football mentality away

@RugbyInsideLine We played Faz at 12 & with respect, if coach tells you to kick all day, you kick all day. That’s the issue. All of those players can play better than they have been because the issue is coaching. Even they look fucked off. Borthwick needs to listen to them & let them play!

🥀 Bad idea. Worse tackle stats than Ford and both Smiths. Poor carry metres, poor defenders beaten, and not many assists/80. Kicks slightly less than Ford, but still a kick heavy playmaker.
