We have a new paper out thanks to @ChemicalBiology where we show that adding short fattty-acids to the anomeric position of monosaccharide reporters (“MCRs”) allows them to enter cells but avoids unwanted chemical reactions with cysteine. pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.102….

First follow-up paper to our discovery (in @nchembio) that O-GlcNAc controls MYPT1 activity is out in @jbiolchem. We show that O-GlcNAc inhibits LPA-induced actinomyosin activation and contraction in fibroblasts. Grats to @MurielleMorales & @NikkiPedowitz. jbc.org/article/S0021-…

Excited to share our publication in @OJSM_SportsMed with @kristyarb and @drtinamaster! Male and female high school soccer had the highest head impact rate across four sports. Male teams also had higher impact rates than female teams of the same sport. doi.org/10.1177/232596…

A new paper from @MattRPratt describes how O-GlcNAc controls the contraction of fibroblasts in response to S1P. O-GlcNAc maintains the phosphatase activity of MYPT1, blocking S1P signaling. Readable link at rdcu.be/b7cf0. nature.com/articles/s4158…
