New Headline, Same old story? 10 million vaccine doses are needed to control the Mpox outbreak in Africa, but Africa has just 200,000 doses available. A short 🧵linkedin.com/posts/africacd…

Having reliable, accessible data is key in fighting injustice and inequality. In partnership with @Google's Data Commons, ONE is making that possible. ONE's @hurrayforfacts and @jriver_a explain how below. 👇 PS: Thanks @Google, we'd collab with you any day. 😉

Vaccines save six lives every minute. And they have every year - for the past 50 YEARS. The vast majority of those lives were infants. Talk about a jab well done 😏 @gavi who.int/news/item/24-0….

The @G7 Fin Min meeting was a let down for developing countries (unless you're Ukraine). It was lacking any clear ambition or new commitments that would support the poorest countries. But here are a few highlights, and what else needs to happen 🧵
ONE@ONECampaign

@G7 Finance Ministers failed to significantly increase development & climate funding. This completely ignores calls from African leaders and the current financial reality. Net transfers to developing countries are at their lowest level since the 2008 financial crisis. 🤯 It’s not too late to fix this at next month’s #g7italy meeting. Leaders there need to commit to investing in our collective future.

Rich countries say they’ve (finally!) hit their 2009 climate finance target. New @OECD numbers released this week show a big increase in climate finance. But there’s more than meets the eye… 🧵

Africa has 60% of the world’s best solar potential & more hours of sunlight than any other continent. ☀️ But it only has 1% of global installed capacity. 2 African start-ups are changing that, but more investment is needed. 👇 🧵

Last Friday, the @IMFNews Board made a decision that could increase available financing for developing countries up to $80 billion, at no cost to taxpayers. How? 🧵
Mark Plant@MarkWPlant

The @IMFNews has approved the use of SDRs in hybrid capital instruments! Now countries need to recycle into them! imf.org/en/Publication…

For the first time since the financial crisis, net finance flows to developing countries turned negative. Debt relief and reforming the patriarchal, racist global financial system are urgent. #SpringMeetings #WBMeetings data.one.org/data-dives/net…
