@OffTangent2024 @MRMark5 @bullyray5150 @BustedOpenRadio There are many scenarios we could bring up that happened the day before, which changed the outcome, but whatever the case may be, none of them resulted in a squash just for shock value or to take a shot at another company before their biggest event.

@TheDrainmaker This was such a dream pairing. They tried this with Vampiro but that was a disaster. These two made magic happen. It’s the best passing of the torch in wrestling.

@A_L_W_podcast Which is MJF’s MO done differently. Instead of MJF coming out and telling Darby he has to run through challenges to get to him, he pays off assassins, who Darby overcomes. Darby’s emotional interviews take it to the next level. He earned his title win.

@A_L_W_podcast MJF is winning title defenses. Darby is getting through the Death Riders And the War Dogs. He is on a streak. He calls out MJF. MJF pays the DCF to handle Darby. He sees Darby as a threat. Darby now has to go through them (continued)

I worked last night so I didn’t get to see #AEWDynamite live. At first I didn’t like the short win either after seeing the short highlight clip and the posts online. But now after watching the full replay and really paying attention to what happened to how Darby won, some of y’all are complaining over nothing. MJF showed up to Dynamite arrogant and unprepared. Not knowing Darby Allin was declaring his title shot due to being off social media and more than likely partying and celebrating his victory over Kenny Omega at #AEWDynasty. In the beginning of the show MJF comes out and talks down to Darby like he was going to be an easy win for MJF and at first wasn’t going to defend the title due to MJF not being prepared to wrestle. Darby Allin then cuts the emotional promo that gets fans behind him even more to win the AEW World Championship, something AEW fans have been wanting for a very long time. Bryan Danielson then gets on the microphone and declared that Tony Khan made the match official for the main event. In the match, Darby Allin hits a low blow on MJF when the referee wasn’t looking, followed by a Scorpion Death Drop, and then immediately hits 4 coffin drops and defeats MJF with the headlock takeover for the win throwing back to when MJF defeated Darby Allin a few years ago at Full Gear. MJF was unprepared to face Darby Allin, and allowed his arrogance to get the best of him, underestimating Darby which lead to his downfall and why he lost to Darby in 2 minutes. Now, he is making his case that Darby’s win was a fluke and will more than likely do so over the next few weeks that Darby Allin can’t defeat MJF in a real wrestling match which may have MJF get his “lawyer” involved to make some kind of stipulation that Darby can’t cheat to win next time and if Darby does he loses the title and will lead to MJF winning the title back at AEW Double or Nothing. It’s storytelling. Something some of y’all claim AEW doesn’t have when y’all want to talk negative and criticize AEW. it throws a swerve in MJF’s title run that nobody saw coming. Everyone expected MJF to defeat Darby and retain the title and continue his title run, including myself. It was unexpected and now it has drawn buzz around AEW both good and bad during WrestleMania week. Not a bad move by Tony Khan if you really think about it.

@sackmonkey1 I got attacked for comparing the two. Foley had a 1 day reign where he won the title at Summerslam and dropped it to Triple H the next night on free tv. It was Triple H’s first title reign and it was on free tv. Whenever you point out parallels, people expose their hypocrisy.

@bklynpsycho @MRMark5 @bullyray5150 @BustedOpenRadio BTW…Since no one wants to address that I also mentioned Triple H winning his first title on TV…Steve Austin lost the belt to Mick Foley the night before on PPV before Foley lost it to Triple H the very next day. It’s wrestling. Kepler should stop overthinking it.

@OffTangent2024 @MRMark5 @bullyray5150 @BustedOpenRadio There was a real-life obstacles of WCW spoiling the outcome on television just to prevent people from seeing that he won the title. Which actually had the opposite effect, encouraging more people to see that he won. There's a major difference.

@bklynpsycho @MRMark5 @bullyray5150 @BustedOpenRadio There was no struggle for Darby? His whole chase for the title has been a struggle. I wasn’t comparing their runs. I was saying first time title wins on tv are ok if done with the right people. Do you not remember what the Death Riders, War Dogs and DCF put Darby through?

@OffTangent2024 @MRMark5 @bullyray5150 @BustedOpenRadio The thing is, and this is where ppl keep overshadowing the fact that he got squashed. Foley faced a lot of obstacles to prevent him from winning. Let's not forget that. You could bring up Foley, but he still struggled to get the title, whereas there was no struggle for Derby.

@Leo1630399 @AewDefender Rey Mysterio beat the Big Show. Fuck your views on wrestling. It’s wrestling. Stop over analyzing everything. I’m so tired of these “wrestling is all I have in my life” incels who can’t just enjoy something and get over it. You need other hobbies. Grow up.

@OffTangent2024 @AewDefender You say that because your original statement makes no sense lol just because he climbed a mountain means he is capable of being world champion. Great for him and it is a huge accomplishment but it does not tie into the work or wrestling

@OffTangent2024 @AewDefender Haha I’m comparing what you’re saying about Darby climbing a mountain, you’re using that to say he is tough. Fine he has charisma but has no ounce of muscle or anything that makes him physically intimidating at all. Just a skinny guy who throws his body around

@AIRGold_ Again…people who are complaining were not actually watching. It felt so obvious that Darby was taking the title. I thought it would end in a draw with a follow up at a PPV but Darby was taking the title. That was not even a question. The fact it happened on Dynamite was great.

AEW’s storytelling rewards paying attention. If you've been paying attention, then you would've noticed that Darby Allin has been set up to beat MJF for a while now. - Darby beat Mox, then ran through the Death Riders - He’s been undefeated in singles action in 2026. - March 11: Kyle Fletcher grows suspicious that Don Callis and MJF are working together on something. - March 18: Darby beats Gabe Kidd in a Coffin Match and cuts a promo after, saying, “Maxwell Jacob Friedman, I’m coming.” - March 18: While MJF is set to face Kenny Omega, his bigger concern is Darby. He pays the Don Callis Family to handle the Darby problem. He’s already looking ahead, confident he can beat Kenny. - March 25: The Don Callis Family take out Darby for Max, because that's the guy Max fears the most. - April 1: Darby cuts another promo, calling out MJF and telling him he’s scared. - April 8: The clearest sign that Darby was the one. He cuts a promo laying out exactly why he wants to win the AEW Championship. - April 12: He challenges MJF after beating Andrade at Dynasty. - April 15: The entire episode is built around telling you that Darby is the guy...and he wins the AEW Championship. None of this was surprising, if you were watching.

@AndrewBaydala Exactly. This is also a business. You never know what’s going to happen in AEW. The world title did not change hands on a PPV. It changed on TV. They even had an angle leading up to it. I thought there was going to be a draw and follow up at a PPV. I love not knowing.

Just my two cents- Like the match or not, due to length, or the whole" he can beat Omega, but not Darby" or whatever, I would almost guarantee MJF said "Let's do it," or it was his idea. I would also bet MJF wanted/suggested to drop the title to Darby. Breathe y'all! #AEWDynamite #AEW

@Leo1630399 @AewDefender Yea…Darby Allin is the same as Steve Blackman. Blackman got one pop his whole life when he dropped Shane McMahon. Darby is aligned with Sting and gets massive pops. Fans love him. And he has charisma. Blackman had none.

@MRMark5 @bullyray5150 @BustedOpenRadio What a great moment. WWE fans are upset that Darby didn’t win on a PPV when they really don’t care at all. Didn’t Mick Foley win his first big world title on free tv? Didn’t Triple H too?

@OffTangent2024 @bullyray5150 @BustedOpenRadio I mean, of course that was the intent... but they hotshotted it in the overrun time on their Wednesday night show (i.e., for free) right before the opposition will dominate the weekend coverage. Nice career moment for Darby, but it killed MJFs best title run. Too clever by half.

@wrestlinfootbal @bullyray5150 @BustedOpenRadio Darby is not a mid card guy. In your eyes, he is. But Darby has always represented AEW. They put him with Sting for a reason. He was the face of TNT for a reason. They had him beat Cody for a reason. They were going to give him the title before Hangman go too hot to ignore.

Sting had to leave us, but he left us with a new hero. Sting picked the guy who will voluntarily sleep in his car to keep his ego in check. The guy who can climb Mt Everest and still think he has something to prove. Darby is Humble. Just like Sting.

@wrestlinfootbal @bullyray5150 @BustedOpenRadio Didn’t an aging, practically broken down Goldberg squash Kevin Owens for the title once. I feel KO did well after that. Not that big a deal. Only a true AEW hater is going to push this as the end of MJF or AEW. Grow up.
