I have a feeling that if Nigeria had qualified for the WC, we may have had a good shot at winning it this year. We have all it takes. It's well.

If Nigeria somehow beats Portugal in this match, all NFF officials should resign. It's terrible that we are not going to the WC. Somebody needs to take responsibility.

Those people who kept promising Nigerians that the country has a petition/case against Congo, pressuring FIFA to release a judgement, is Nigeria still going to the World Cup? When is the Super Eagles landing in the US? WC begins tomorrow ooooo!

One Six-Year Term Better is Than Two Four-Year Terms — Sen. Bamidele Proposes Constitutional Amendment Bill Senate Majority Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, has revealed plans to sponsor a constitutional amendment bill seeking to limit presidents and governors in Nigeria to a single six-year term in office. Bamidele disclosed this while speaking on his legislative agenda for the next Senate, saying the proposal is aimed at improving governance and reducing the distraction caused by re-election campaigns. According to him, one of the first bills he intends to push when lawmakers reconvene is a measure that would allow anyone elected as President or Governor to serve only one tenure of six years. “One of the first set of bills that I look forward to moving, by God’s grace, when we come back for the 11th Senate, is for a bill that will only make it possible for anyone who wants to be President of this country, or Governor in any state of this country, to spend only one tenure of six years,” he said. The lawmaker argued that elected leaders often spend a significant portion of their first term focusing on securing a second mandate rather than delivering on their promises. “So that you don’t even have to worry about wasting almost one and a half years of your first term thinking and struggling, and looking forward to how you’ll be re-elected. If you know you are there for six years, only one tenure, you put in your best from day one. You know this is the only chance that you have,” he added. Bamidele, however, acknowledged that the proposal reflects his personal conviction and may not enjoy universal support. “That’s my opinion; it doesn’t mean everybody will agree with me,” he said. He maintained that proposing such a change falls within the responsibility of lawmakers, noting that laws are not static but evolve with society. “The essence of law, the essence of parliament, is because laws are like human beings, they grow,” Bamidele stated. If passed, the bill would mark a major shift from Nigeria’s current constitutional arrangement, which allows presidents and governors to serve a maximum of two four-year terms.

There's a tweet you'll come across and you'll rush immediately to see if you are following the poster. Once you realize you're not following them, you heave a sudden sigh of relief, calm your nerves and proceed to restrict them ever appearing before you again.

I guess that man was starved of good life in his previous life but no matter what, he should have had enough. He's wiping out any future hope for the youth of today and it's dangerous.

Excessive Borrowing Without Accountability: Further Affirmation of Imprudent Governance. President Bola Tinubu's administration has engaged in remarkably imprudent borrowing, escalating Nigeria's total debt to approximately N200 trillion. This represents an increase of over N100 trillion within a mere three years, a stark contrast to the roughly N49 trillion accumulated during President Muhammadu Buhari's eight-year tenure, which would have projected to around N80 trillion. As millions of Nigerians grapple with the shock of this unsustainable debt accumulation, the situation is exacerbated by the government's reckless approach to borrowing and a profound absence of accountability and transparency in the utilisation of these funds. For instance, data from the Federation's Budget Office reveals that the Bola Tinubu government borrowed N11.89 trillion in the first three quarters of 2025 (January to September), exceeding the planned borrowing target of N10.34 trillion by approximately N1.54 trillion. Under a responsible and accountable government, such an overshoot would necessitate rigorous scrutiny and explanation from relevant governmental bodies. Regrettably, this is not the reality under the current administration. Compounding this issue, only N3.10 trillion of the borrowed funds was allocated to capital expenditure during the same January-September 2025 period. This constitutes a mere 17.66% of the N17.58 trillion earmarked for capital projects, leaving a deficit of roughly N14.48 trillion, or 82.34% of planned capital expenditure unfunded. The most disturbing aspect of the financial management fiasco under Bola Tinubu is that there is no explanation or information regarding how the balance was utilised or deployed. The question that Nigerians are rightly asking and deserve an answer to is what happened to the balance? Was it deployed for recurrent expenditure/ consumption, for the entertainment of guests to Aso Rock or transferred to the Renewed Hope Agenda 2027 Election Campaign Fund? Nigerians deserve an answer on how our economy and resources are most unpatriotically managed. A New and Productive Nigeria is POssible, and Nigeria will be OK! -PO

Tinubu contributes to about 30% of the problem, the rest falls on the state govts and leaders who by the way occupy federal positions; But we are not ready for this conversation yet. This is why majority are primarily focused on presidential candidates and pay very little attention to state positions, forgetting that state holds immense power, even at the federal level, enough power to make a president serious.
