Yes Peter Obi tried but also know that the bank he was chairman by virtue of number of shares was called Fidelity Union Merchant Bank the share capital then was just 12M with just 1 branch in Lagos, it was more or less the microfinance bank of this days now, the likes of Moniepoint, Flutterwavr ,Kuda etc are almost 10 times better than FUMB of the 90s.
FUMB became commercial bank in 1999 when merchant banking was scrapped but operations started 2001. Peter Obi step down as Chairman in 2002 to join politics though remained highest shareholder.
By 2005 when non could make the 25 Billion capitalization Fidelity bank merged with FSB and Manufacturers Bank also called Manny Bank to be one bank.
Peter Obi is now not listed as a shareholder in fidelity bank, the likes of Onyeali, Mustapha Chike Obi, Nelson are the one listed though non have upto even 1% share the bank is mainly publicly owned.

UPDATE: Troops on patrol in Matazu traced the victim’s captors to the hideout of notorious bandit leader Kachalla Muhammadu deep within the forest. During the operation, the hideout was uncovered and destroyed. The rescued victim seen in the earlier post was recovered from the location, while two other captives were sadly found dead. This development show the harsh realities faced by victims of banditry and the importance of sustained security operations across the Northwest region. Commendation to the Nigerian Army for maintaining pressure on criminal elements and sustaining offensive operations aimed at restoring peace and security in the axis.

Your statement says the bandits shot Mrs. Abubakar and then fled due to military pressure. So were the bandits responsible for this abduction neutralized, arrested, or did they simply escape again? What about the other victims seen in the kidnappers’ videos two weeks ago? Have they been rescued, or do their lives matter less because they are not related to a former General? Who brought back the body of the late General? Were the killers eliminated, or did they simply walk away?
Every time we hear “troops mounted pressure” and “the bandits fled.” Nigerians are tired of press releases. Where are the rescued victims? Where are the arrested suspects? Where is the justice? Dear @HQNigerianArmy we need answers please, Thank you!

DHQ PRESS RELEASE TROOPS RESCUE WIFE OF FORMER DIRECTOR DEFENCE INFORMATION FROM BANDITS Troops of the Nigerian Army with the support of the Nigerian Air Force have successfully rescued Mrs Amina Abubakar, wife of the late Major General Rabe Abubakar and former Director Defence Information, who was abducted by bandits alongside her husband a few weeks ago. The rescue operation followed intensified search-and-rescue efforts conducted by troops of Operation FASAN YAMMA. During sustained offensive operations and pressure mounted on the criminal elements, troops made contact with the bandits at Tunga Village, leading to the successful recovery of Mrs Abubakar. In the course of the encounter, the bandits shot Mrs Abubakar before abandoning her and fleeing due to the overwhelming pressure from advancing troops. Mrs Abubakar was immediately evacuated and is currently receiving medical attention at a military hospital, where she is responding to treatment. The leadership of the Armed Forces of Nigeria remain committed to ensuring her full recovery and is providing all necessary support to her family during this difficult period. Troops will continue ongoing operations to track down and neutralise the perpetrators, while intensifying efforts to rid affected communities of terrorists not just in Katsina but in the entire nation.
