@DanOHerrin @simpsonryan32 @TKratman "...can’t be easily quantified by some arbitrary study using traditional metrics..." is an asinine attempt to claim some spiritual provenance for the OP's fact free rant.

It’s not just that, I’ve friends in several of the countries on that list and the thing that jumps out the most to me is how incredibly uninformed, even brainwashed most are. They generally have great trust & get most of their information from state-ran-media. That’s the complete opposite in the US. Virtually no one here (w/ good reason) trust Legacy/Corporate Media. Much of what the author initially stated is true…but can’t be easily quantified by some arbitrary study using traditional metrics.

From Martin Iles, reposted: Having lived in the USA for nearly two years, I've realised something. The USA and the remainder of the Western world are no longer aligned. We all laugh and mock when the Americans say, "Freedom!" because we truly think we're as free as they are. Wrong. We're not. Not even close. The laws, the mindset, and the behaviour, is totally different in this regard. Most of all, the governments are totally different. The USA's convictions around core freedoms are on a scale we do not share. Meanwhile, Donald Trump wins the popular vote, the electoral college, the House, and the Senate... a man who, in every other Western country, is held in open derision, if not contempt. For these and other reasons, we are not the same. Yet the West, including Australia, fully expect to rely on the USA for our very survival. If the world turns bad (which will happen - only a question of time), then the whole West, without America, is toast. So, you may ask - if we're not very aligned ideologically, then it must be that we bring something to the party militarily? Well, no... actually... we don't matter that much militarily. The USA has about 470 ships in its navy, including 11 aircraft carriers, 69 submarines, 75 destroyers... plus 110 new ships in the pipeline. Australia has about 30, including 3 destroyers, 7 frigates and 7 outdated submarines. The UK does a little better, with about 60. Meanwhile, the US has over 14,000 military aircraft. A staggering number. Australia has 252 military aircraft. The UK has 556. The US army has just shy of 1,000,000 uniformed personnel in its military. Australia has about 45,000. The USA spends 3.4% ($968 billion) of its GDP on defence. Australia spends 2% ($36.4 billion). The US spends as much as the next 15 largest military-spending countries (including China) combined. The USA has a fighting culture. The men shoot things (a lot) and hunt things, the veterans get favoured in everything from parking spots to boarding planes. A uniformed young man is thanked in the street a dozen times a day. "Oh, the Americans and their guns!" we say, in our smug way. Yes, they have a warrior culture. We do not. We don't have to, because we're a leech on theirs. How many young British men are willing to fight for their country? Now ask the same regarding young American men. The difference is about as wide as it could be. Militarily, we don't offer squat. Meanwhile, look at the way Australia works against America's interests by loving on China. China made us rich and we stay close. This is a Marxist regime with expansionist aims. Again, you have to spend time in the USA to realise just how vast a gulf there is between us on China. Europe, too. They let China have their way everywhere from Germany to Greenland, all the while importing Islam and sending their own people to court for saying hurty words. Somehow, we have landed the deal of a lifetime with the USA that says, "when the baddies come, you'll save us ok?" Because we can't save ourselves. And we live in peace. But we keep gnawing away at freedoms, keep enabling China, and get flabby and disinterested about our military because Uncle Sam's got it. And, let's be honest, Americans are widely looked down on. To add insult to injury, we don't think that highly of our protectors. So, the USA is finally saying "enough." I am here, I can tell you what the vibe is, and that's it. Trump is doing what people want in this regard. They're over it. And we come across all shocked and hard done by. We behave like people with no self-insight at all. Yes, the global alliance system is all over the place now. From America's perspective, it's about time. And I must say, though I be a proud Australian, I am forced to agree. Something has to change.

@Ben_Scallan I, as a practicing Catholic don't have huge issue with our govt trying to buy and staff all our schools. We can keep some for true Catholics. They can teach kids how to masturbate in their schools, and we'll all be happy?

Here we go energy lock downs and fuel rationing, Couple of Interesting points. The EU’s Energy commissioner Dan Jorgensen told the Financial Times yesterday that ‘this will be a long crisis ’ and that ‘energy prices will be higher for a very long time.’ I doubt the price will be allowed to return to previous levels as this ties into the net zero madness. "Mr Jorgensen insisted the EU will not change legislation banning imports of Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG] this year." They might when there is no power and winter comes, Or when German industry grids to a halt. The EU is considering ‘all possibilities’ including fuel rationing and releasing more emergency oil reserves as it braces for ‘long-lasting’ energy shocks from the Iranian war. The EU’s Energy commissioner Dan Jorgensen told the Financial Times yesterday that ‘this will be a long crisis ’ and that ‘energy prices will be higher for a very long time.’ He said supplies of ‘critical’ products are expected ‘to be even worse in the weeks to come’. The continued effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz, through which 20% of the world’s oil passed until the US-Israeli attacks on Iran, has created turmoil on the energy markets, with soaring pricings and long-term supply fears. Mr Jorgensen said: ‘The rhetoric that we’re using and the words we’re using are more serious now than they were earlier in the crisis. ‘It certainly is our analysis that this will be a prolonged situation and countries need to be sure that they have what they need.’ He said that while the EU was ‘not in a security of supply crisis, yet’, Brussels is drawing up plans to tackle ‘structural, long-lasting effects’ of the conflict. The EU is drawing up a series of scenarios to prepare for the worst eventualities. However, Mr Jorgensen insisted the EU will not change legislation banning imports of Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG] this year. The war is set to lead to a summer of chaos for travellers, with airlines already set to cancel hundreds of flights due to jet fuel shortages. Earlier this week Ryanair boss Michael O’Leary warned of disruption during May and June if the war drags on. The Government is facing further pressure to provide even greater supports to businesses and vulnerable energy users. A fortnight ago the Government cut excise duty on petrol and diesel by 15c and 20c respectively, it also introduced an increased diesel rebate for hauliers and bus operators and extended the fuel allowance by four weeks to 470,000 households. Minister for Transport and Energy Darragh O’Brien yesterday held an online meeting with the Irish Road Haulage Association (IRHA) to discuss the ongoing impact of the war in Iran on fuel prices in Ireland. The IRHA are seeking further supports from the Government to ease the pressure caused by the spike in prices triggered by the war. The hauliers said that the supports are not adequate given prices have increased by more than 35% since the initial round of Government measures were announced. The hauliers told the Minister that their sector must be prioritised if fuel rationing is introduced. Mr O’Brien is due to meet with EU Transport ministers next week and agreed to raise the situation there. Deputy Vice President of the IHRA Eugene Drennan told RTÉ’s Morning Ireland yesterday that the price of fuel ‘has now gone way past’ what it was when the first package of supports was announced. Mr Drennan added: ‘There are various things they can do and irrespective of the cost to the Exchequer, we are led to believe that we have funds that we put away for the rainy day. ‘We’re very close to a national emergency here. They must react and they must react swiftly and quickly. Speaking on Newstalk Breakfast on Thursday, Taoiseach Micheál Martin said that supports would be kept under review and will be considered if the war persists. The Taoiseach warned that the world was ‘on the precipice’ of a major energy and economic crisis. The Fianna Fáil leader said that the knock-on effects would impact on aviation, agriculture and manufacturing. Mr Martin said the Government is monitoring fuel supplies and prices closely, with around 90 days of reserves available through the National Oil Reserves Agency, but said rationing wasn’t on the table just yet. In relation to concerns around fuel pricing and gouging Mr Martin said that the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission has been asked to continue monitoring the market to ensure there is no price gouging. He said: ‘We’ve asked the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission to keep a weather vane on all of that.’

“Why do you look among the dead for one who is alive?. He is not here. He has been raised. Remember what he told you while he was still in Galilee: that the Son of Man must be handed over to sinners and be crucified and rise again on the third day.” Happy Easter.

Dunne’s Farm Pastured Eggs

Can anyone help identify this individual? Or does anyone have dash cam footage from the Maynooth–Dunboyne road around 3pm today (April 3rd)? He vandalised our honesty box, stole money, and destroyed a large number of eggs in the process. We’d really like to identify him and have a word. Please share far and wide — every bit helps 🙏 #dunnesfarmeggthief

59-year-old former butcher and grandad Stephen McLoughlin spent months grooming two schoolgirls he believed were aged 12 and 13. He sent them sick sexual messages and indecent images while repeatedly begging one to meet up for sex. It was actually an adult vigilante group (TFN) posing as the children the whole time. When they confronted him outside Kirkby police station he pulled out a knife and stabbed himself in the neck. Jailed for four years at Bolton Crown Court plus an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order. Just 4 years? that's it?!?!
