A right-wing television channel is coming to Poland. Newsmax Polska, due to launch later this year, will operate as a franchise under Newsmax Balkans, which is owned by Telekom Srbija, a company majority-controlled by the Serbian state and partly financed by Sberbank Serbia, the Russian state bank's regional arm. The franchisor is US conservative news station Newsmax. One journalist who was approached to work there turned the offer down, telling Rzeczpospolita they believed Russian interests were behind it. At the moment there is a fight on the Polish right over who will actually control the editorial line and whether the channel ends up closer to PiS or to Konfederacja.

It's not 2021 anymore, and russia would need months and months of visible buildup to even begin gathering sonething they could try with.

NATO: This is why we can’t depend on NATO. Poland is a great ally but they simply don’t value the lives of their soldiers the way America does. The ‘leave no man behind’ ethos is something they simply can’t grasp.

The "leave no man behind" doctrine is actually a strategic weakness disguised as a virtue. Name one other military on earth that destroys 6 aircraft and fights a ground battle inside a sovereign nation to recover one pilot. You can't. Because no other military confuses tactical sentimentality with strategic logic. Soldiers serve the mission. The mission doesn't serve the soldier. The US has now established that Iran can shoot down an F-15, then watch America spend $300M and expose Delta Force trying to prove it didn't happen. That's not military doctrine. That's politics with weapons. A military that cannot accept the risk of loss cannot win wars. The US hasn't won one since 1945.

@amuse Poland was a great ally, but are they still? We asked them to move one Patriot battery to Turkey because Iran was shelling them and they said no. We paid for the fucking thing and we’re defending them with 10k trips and equipment. I’m over these kinds of allies.

Wiele wskazuje na to, a strona szwedzka 🇸🇪 zapewnia, że pierwszą „Orkę”🐬 w @MarWojRP 🇵🇱 zobaczymy już w 2030 roku. Polska 🇵🇱 przygotowuje się do realizacji programu „#Orka”🐬, w ramach którego planowany jest zakup trzech nowoczesnych okrętów podwodnych typu #A26 🇸🇪. Jednostki te zostaną zbudowane przez szwedzki koncern @Saab 🇸🇪, a konkretnie w jego stoczni Saab @kockums_io / Saab Naval 🇸🇪. Zgodnie z deklaracjami producenta, pierwszy okręt ma zostać dostarczony już w 2030 roku. Współpraca pomiędzy Polską 🇵🇱 a Szwecją 🇸🇪 została formalnie zainicjowana poprzez podpisanie umowy międzyrządowej. Obecnie trwają końcowe negocjacje kontraktu, które (według zapowiedzi) mogą zakończyć się wiosną lub latem 2026 roku. Istotnym elementem projektu jest udział krajowego przemysłu obronnego, w tym @PGZ_pl 🇵🇱, która ma uczestniczyć zarówno w budowie, jak i późniejszym utrzymaniu okrętów. Produkcja jednostek będzie realizowana w Karlskronie 🇸🇪 głównej bazie szwedzkiej marynarki wojennej i kluczowym ośrodku przemysłu stoczniowego. Tamtejsza infrastruktura została rozbudowana, aby umożliwić jednoczesną budowę kilku okrętów podwodnych. Łącznie planuje się budowę 5 okrętów typu A26 🇸🇪 – 2 dla Szwecji 🇸🇪 i 3 dla Polski 🇵🇱. Dodatkowo Polska 🇵🇱 ma otrzymać tymczasową jednostkę typu A17 🇸🇪 (tzw. „gap filler”), która pozwoli utrzymać zdolności operacyjne do czasu wejścia do służby nowych okrętów. The fact remains that having weak frontline forces (albeit Baltic countries are in process of building formidable forces), risks a failed counteroffensive and possible permanent loss of territory.

@PetruMold32128 @Gerashchenko_en Yes, Nato has soldiers in the Baltic. For example they have a 3500 man battle group led by Canada in Latvia. Canada has close to 2000 soldiers there. In Estonia the UK leads a battle group and in Lithuania it's German. 12,000 NATO soldiers in total.
