The Government of India has invited nominations for the Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar (RVP) 2026, a prestigious national initiative to recognize outstanding contributions in the fields of Science, Technology, and Innovation. The awards are administered by the RVP Secretariat, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), the Ministry of Science & Technology, under the chairmanship of the Principal Scientific Advisor to the GOI. The Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar honours scientists, technologists, and innovators whose work has significantly advanced India’s scientific landscape and contributed to national development. Nominations, including self-nominations, are open across a wide range of domains, including Agricultural Science, Atomic Energy, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Defence Technology, Earth Science, Engineering Sciences, Environmental Science, Mathematics & Computer Science, Medicine, Physics, Space Science and Technology, Technology & Innovation, and Others. Republic Day Celebrations at CSIR-HRDG | 26 January 2026 CSIR-HRDG celebrated Republic Day at the HRDG Complex with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. Dr Ramakrishnan Parthasarathi, Head, HRDG, hoisted the National Flag, followed by a dignified Guard of Honour by the security personnel. He also joined staff members for a group photograph. The celebrations concluded with the distribution of sweets and refreshments. Thank you to everyone who made the occasion memorable.

To strengthen outreach with Project Leaders, CSIR-HRDG organized a 2-day TSA Hybrid Workshop at CSIR-NAL, Bengaluru (7–8 Jan 2026) with participants from universities, research institutes and CSIR labs. Reviewed the 2026 plan as well as long-term future roadmap of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research #CSIR, at its Anusandhan Bhavan headquarters.  CSIR has an ambitious plan to develop indigenous capabilities in critical aerospace technologies, with a future bearing on the country's  self-reliance in the aviation sector as well as overall economic growth. CSIR aligned with the whole of science ecosystem, enriched by some of the pathbreaking Modi 3.0 decisions like Rs 1 Lakh Crore RDI Fund, Anusandhan National Research Foundation, relaxation of 3 year eligibility clause for new StartUps to seek financial loans and the historic SHANTI Act opening up the Nuclear sector to private players. Efforts have been upscaled to translate technology driven innovation into jobs, #StartUps and overall societal benefit.

Inaugurated the world's second "National Environmental Standard Laboratory" and the world's fifth "National Primary Standard Facility for Solar Cell Calibration" at the #CSIR–National Physical Laboratory #NPL, New Delhi. While the "National Environmental Standard Laboratory"  marks for India a major leap in Environmental Governance, the "National Primary Standard Facility" makes India a member of Elite Global League in Solar Metrology. The two apex national facilities, together, promise to strengthen India’s environmental and renewable energy ecosystem. CSIR–National Physical Laboratory (NPL) New Delhi is one of the monuments of New India, embodying India’s scientific journey, and mentored by eminent national leaders and the then Union Ministers Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
