@GordonHerriman thats my theory as well. but energy is a massive sector for us now. I sold silver at 150 a oz when ppl were calling for 300 a oz etc etc. Things look bullish for the sector 100% but if boats start going through how fast will things drop? who knows. either way!

Took some profits off the table this morning and sold a chunk of suncor. $su Its still 7% of our portfolio but it was at 9% =) Energy has been fantastic. (and should continue to be) but its our top sector by a long shot. Put the proceeds into $bam

@BoscherMTG haha good question.. 9% of portfolio seemed like a good time. up like 55% last 3 months alone and like 230% plus dividends since we loaded up during covid era. ive seen these spikes before. ie silver at 150 plus a oz. nothing wrong diversifying and taking $ $su still 7% port

Congrats to your gains as well. I don’t think they’ll tax these gains, as the sliding scale of royalties already helps govts out. Plus this Liberal government has an anti-business reputation to shake and needs to show capital investment returning to Canada. Just a lay person’s opinion. Sold 100% OXY, VET, and WCP. 75% of CNE and put in a sell limit order on all my TOU. I’ll keep CNQ, ALTA and my pipes and utilities.

@DeeCee_09 nice Dave the private equity seems to be a drag on them, but its brookfield. Carneys getting some deal everywhere he gos......for brookfield atleast! =)

@416ash ill be honest it was hard to sell. I just dont see things booming other then oil and gas but its also really political. I could see the govt slapping some kind of new tax on all this profit cdn energy is making and the public may actually cheer it on. congrats on ur gains!

@AVibrantDreamer sadly ive heard that a couple times. Guy basically pointed out everything before it happened and ppl dislike him.... Personally I like how he says it as it is vs politcal word salad. heres hoping the war right now opens ppls eyes on our energy issues and cost of living even more

Gonna be crazy to see how much stock $su will be buying back with these oil prices. $cnq will hit their debt target super fast and will be full force as well. Energy has been a fantastic sector for investors the last 5 years.
