@PastorAlexC It's tough bc if you EVER lose a game with Soto and Judge waiting on deck, it's an absolute disaster. Every AB you take away from them over the course of 162 is taking away win rate, but it is what it is.

Too many people I've seen & told me directly that Soto can't bat leadoff for the #Mets because having him get on base w nobody who can hit to drive him in is worthless. They also say he should bat 3rd so he can drive runners in. The guys who can't get hits, allegedly. I can't.

@efropoker You're absolutely not wrong. But there's a lot of mental in baseball, too, and if they feel more comfortable in the 2/3 instead of 1/2, I think they'll hit better. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy to say "I hit worse in the leadoff spot" because the player will live into it.

@efropoker I agree with that. I loved Soto/Judge as 2/3.

@PastorAlexC That would be a very good reason to not have him bat leadoff, and perhaps the only potential reason. Having him bat 2nd if you have Lindor hitting at an elite level leading off is only a very small loss in EV. Anything lower is crushing a team's win rate, though.

I said it back in Game 1 the Blue Jays at bats against Snell have looked too comfortable. They’re locked in on every pitch. Straight gangsta hacks. From Game 1 it’s felt like the Jays have been on every pitch Snell throws. Timing too clean swings too confident. I feel like they have his pitches.
