If you’ve ever looked at the childhood vaccine schedule and thought “that feels like…a lot” You’re not alone. I've added a new lens to tackling this issue in my updated episode: “Too Many Vaccines Too Soon?” 🧵

The Vaccine Safety Files: Guided Tour (Systems Edition) is live. The science hasn’t changed. But how I explain it has. Now, this isn’t just debunking—it’s about how misinformation spreads, why systems fail, and how to navigate it. Start here: infectiousdose.com/post/guided-to…

Here is what you need to know about the SAVE Act: 1. It started as a stunt to protect Mike Johnson's speakership. 2. It has become a massive voter suppression bill. 3. It won't pass. 4. When it fails Trump will escalate. 5. We will fight and win. democracydocket.com/opinion/the-sa…

@RblSports Our messaging at the time around masks and respirators was a mess, no doubt. Mine included. Bottom line: For any virus or bacteria you don’t want to catch or spread that “may” have an aerosol or airborne component… wear one in risky situations until we learn otherwise.

@PathogenScribe What's your thoughts on Respirator Masks for SARS-CoV-2 Variants? My issue was we were being told to put handkerchiefs over our face when the Virus had Ave Exposure to Infection of 20 minutes. But nobody talked about Respirator Masks until we had Variants with ETI of seconds

Not sure how something spreads? Wear a respirator. If it helps, great. If it doesn’t, you still avoided other pathogens along the way. There’s no downside to protecting yourself. People who are bothered by other people choosing to wear one are not worth giving any thought to.

@PathogenScribe 8 doses total are recommended to prevent Hib and pneumococcal meningitis in infants and children. Is getting meningitis a more desirable option? Absolutely not. More protection is a win.

@PathogenScribe I chose evidence, but wish there was an option for wild type health risk vs vaccine risk. I’ll take an even moderately effective / slightly risky vaccine for a potentially lethal pathogen.

It's time for a #PathogenPoll 🦠 When you’re trying to decide if vaccine information is trustworthy, what matters most to you? Vote below and if you have a different metric let me know in a comment!!

@davidkurten The case count went from 34 to 29. And two kids are still dead. This is still one of the largest meningococcal outbreaks that we have ever seen outside an area where meningococcal disease is endemic. Shame on you for trying to minimize it.

This belief goes from intuitive ? to vaccine fear when the system fails to effectively present the information: You see the number of shots You don’t see the antigen load You get 15 minutes with your pediatrician That gap gets filled by misinformation.

Meningitis is not a debate. It is a timetable. You can be well at breakfast, critically ill by lunch, and dead by morning. The organism—Neisseria meningitidis—requires no permission, no podcast, and certainly no belief. It moves from throat to bloodstream to brain with a speed that makes “doing your own research” a rather final hobby. And yet, as young people are hospitalized and buried, we are told this is “nonsense.” One must admire the theater: dismissing a disease that can kill in hours while benefiting from the very vaccines that made it rare enough to forget. My son is 15 - you can get he is vaccinated, I'd love to meet my grandchildren (not too soon mind you)

@PathogenScribe @KellyAnneBryan1 I don’t care what other people think about me wearing a mask. Last time I was sick was December, 2019. Nearly 6 and 1/2 years without even a single cold. Never getting sick is an awesome way to live.
