Good breakdown by @BioLayne of new research on long muscle length partial rep training. This meta shift in has been brewing for the past few years. Kinda wild if you think about it. Keep an eye out for a new video soon 💪

Training at long muscle lengths grows muscle better than training at short muscle lengths 💪 New research breakdown! RIP @dr.joelseedman_ahp 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 We have substantial research demonstrating that full range of motion (ROM) training produces better hypertrophy & strength than partial range of motion training but that has only been shown when the partial reps are when the muscle is in a shortened position (PMID: 34170576) A new meta-analysis by @bradschoenfeldphd @dr__pak @wolfcoach_ @bretcontreras1 @menno.henselmans @drmikeroberts compared training at long muscle lengths vs training at short muscle lengths & found that training at long muscle lengths produced more hypertrophy than training at shortened muscle lengths This body of literature demonstrating that to maximize muscular hypertrophy it is important to train muscles in a lengthened position. Some have postulated that lengthened partials may produce more hypertrophy than full ROM training but thus far the research shows them to be equivalent when volume & intensity are matched Anyone wanna take a bet on if @dr.joelseedman_ahp adjusts his recommendations to be in line with the literature? Spoiler alert… he won’t Share & save. Only YOU can stop the spread of BS 🔥

Table is showing effectively the opposite (lower assc. risk). "inverse all-cause mortality hazard reductions were observed for unit increase of weightlifting" "...these findings support meeting both the aerobic MVPA and muscle strengthening..."

Pre-print is up! Cold water immersion inhibits muscle development when applied immediately after resistance training on a regular basis. Kudos to my master's degree student Alec Pinero for spearheading 💪 sportrxiv.org/index.php/serv…

Always telling when you post on light(er) vs. heavy(er) weights… 3 vitriolic emails later about how (essentially) unmanly it is to lift lighter weights and how “I” am filling people’s heads with rubbish on RT 😳 #hatersgonnahate Lift heavy if that’s your preference! 😂

Am I wrong for feeling a bit judgy when health/fitness expert posts a contextless screenshot of a scientific study rather than posting the study itself?

@RealDoctorMike @jackdnoonan @BioLayne The photos posted is an article interpreting the findings of a study. The study itself states: "These findings are in line with prior reports showing that sucralose consumed in a fasted state and in isolation has no effect on plasma metabolites or appetite-regulating hormones."

The majority of gainz can be achieved with a fairly basic, minimalistic training program. On the other hand, substantially more time, effort and knowledge are required to optimize your muscle-building potential 💪🏽

Genetics matter. That said, virtually everyone has the ability to substantially improve their muscularity with proper training, consistency and determination. And if you weren't blessed with the best genetics, the more important it is to take a scientific approach to training 💪

Consistent with emerging evidence, new study shows similar muscular adaptations with plant-vs animal-based protein combined with RT provided adequate daily protein intake to support hypertrophy (~2 g/kg/day). pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36822394/

@BradSchoenfeld I understand the point. It’s fantastic we have options. That’s great news. I was just questioning how challenging it is to hit this protein amount per day with plant foods, from a practical perspective? That’s where I was hoping to learn.
