The reason we moved to the suburbs of Chicago when we had our first kid was for this reason. We had our cars broken into three times. That wasn’t only it. It was riding on the El very pregnant and a 20 something male not giving up his seat for me and a 60+ year old lady grabbing my arm and insisting i take her seat. It was someone being murdered above the Starbucks on Logan boulevard steps from our place and being situated the same way with the back decks to the apartment. I saw the decay happening in 2007.
